Yes, she's done it again! Another wonderful series traveling to the less well known areas of the planet. A very interesting and articulate presenter, making people feel at ease, even though there is obviously a language barrier at times. I had never realised how diverse the culture, history and lifestyle was of the communities inhabiting the remote regions. Neither had I realised how modern and stylish the architecture was in areas previously associated with links to Russia. The beautiful mosaics, the richly coloured silks, the vast areas of the snow capped mountains and turquoise blue of the lakes were absolutely stunning.Can I go with you next time ?

I bought this DVD having visited the Silk Road myself. I was not disappointed and Joanna's presentation helped me to relive my memories. Thank you again.

A very good travelogue starting in Istanbul and finishing in Kyrgyzstan with the explanations along the way of examples existing today and historical monuments of why this road was so important
