Can a clay pot be used with this cooker?

You can find stainless steel pads with handles that are purposely made to sit in between induction cooktops and non-ferrous cookware. The flat, stainless disk gets hot from induction and transfers heat to your non-ferrous cookware. I wouldn't use any cookware on that disk unless the cookware can be used on a traditional electric or gas stove, however. So, I'm still wary of using a "clay pot" even with the intermediate disk.

Do you need a special pan to use with this?

It needs to be a ferrous metal, any type of steel or cast iron or a layered bottom that has steel or iron in it. Some stainless steel does not react to a magnet but still works on an induction cooktop. Some steel pans are better than others.

Does this work on normal house power?

Yes, 110 volt regular house current. Love it!

Can this be installed as a drop in a counter? Instructions are not specific.
