Best addition to my micro camper
Must have almost worn this out doing the NC500 in my wee van - an essential addition for any coffee/tea lover. Takes about 25 minutes to boil so I'd just start it with about 25 minute to go till my next destination and I'd have a hot drink ready to be poured when I stopped. I have a 350W generator too, so it was perfect for making a brew without running the van battery down while I was parked up. On longer drives, I'd plug it in and just stop briefly to pour the hot water before setting off again. Magic.

Poor Presentation
Just got my kettle, arrived in a plain white box with no instructions very poor packaging, and a fuse I know not for. Surly for just under £30 it should have a little more presentation as it looks cheap.

Avoid!
If you want a travel kettle that takes ages to NOT heat water, then this is the one for you! 45 minutes to heat up lukewarm water and a set of instruction created via Google Translate, avoid this like a Trump supporter on Election Day!

Very slow to heat
Itās probably unavoidable that itās slow as working off car 12v socket, but I wish theyād put in the description how long it takes to boil when filled with cold water.I usually carry a flask of pre boiled water so it doesnāt take as long to reach 99.9 degrees for tea.Much better than plastic alternatives as they tend to give the water a plastic smell, stainless steel makes it ideal for travel.

Good quality
Decent wee kettle for my work van, 40 mins to boil is a bit of a wait thoughā¦.I use this time to meditate so all is cool

The antidote to coffee drive-throughs.
I spend long hours on the road in my van and since Covid, I have been reluctant to visit coffee shops for my caffeine fix. This device, although it will not necessarily fit in a car cup holder, sits nicely in the passenger door of my Sprinter.Half an hour before I need it, I plug it in and stop to top up my hot cup.

Long time to heat up - if you have the time its fine
When on a long road trip you have 3 options for a hot cup of coffee: (1) Stop at a coffee place, (2) Stop by the side of the road and use a gas stove to heat water or (3) Use a travel kettle. I have tried 1 and 2 and in this post-Covid world you often don't know what is going to be open and/or hygenic. So I thought I would give option 3 a go.For context I am in the UK, a coffee addict and travel a lot.The package arrived and the first thing I noticed were the instructions. There weren't any. Never mind it cant be that complicated. Plug it in and wait for it to heat up. So I did just that. Now this was a test as I needed a solution for a trip this weekend and so started the car, topped up the kettle with cold water and plugged it in.5,10,15....30 minutes later I gave up waiting. There is a claim on the listing that this hits 100 Celsius in 25 minutes. That is either a thimble of water or a different version. I actually measured the temperature at 70 degrees Celsius after 30 minutes for a full kettle from a cold tap starting point. Now this is definitely hot enough for a cup of coffee but it all depends on how long you are driving for and how long your are prepared to wait and what you are using the water for.I like the fact it is slimline, it fits in my car cup holder in the centre console and won't fall over. The capacity is also fairly good and if you are on your own then putting in half the water will reduce the time it takes to boil I suspect. There is also an element of thermal sealing so pre-boiling on your journey at the start and then topping up the heat when you need it is also an option. The downsides - the plug got really hot. I mean as hot as the water so be careful. I also have a concern over the seal at the top. Its a sealed kettle with a push down release to pour water. If you left the lid on and the pressure built up from steam I suspect this could be an issue. However given it takes an eternity to boil you would need more patience than me to test it and if you loosen the lid a little this should not be an issue. So in summary, I like the idea and I will be taking this on my next trip. I am prepared to give it a go and work around some of the practical issues to see if it keeps me on the move more than a gas stove and camping pot.Edit: 17th August (4 days later). It worked until it sprung a leak from the bottom as others have reported. Given the price and the lack of durability I have decided to return this item for a refund. Please fix the durability of this product. Its a nice form factor but if it leaks after 2 uses - it is not fit for purpose.
