Edimax EW-7416APn Edimax 300Mbps Wireless 11n Range Extender / Access Point with Universal Repeater Mode

I actually use this on my Parrot AR drone to increase the distance it can fly. It is so easy to set up that I use it for both my drone when flying and extending the range of my network at home (which requires me to plug into my computer and run the setup wizard each time, which now that I have my settings correct, only takes about 1 minute). WiFi extender at a great price.

This access point or repeater can also be used as a wireless print server. My rather expensive($270) HP ew2500 print server died a slow agonizing death. This device set up easily as a wireless print server and has a strong wireless signal/reception. I had purchased one of these two years ago to be used as a repeater for my home wireless system. It has worked reliably ever since being set up. My only reservation is that the set up software does not include Win 7, but I still have a Win XP available. I did not try using the set up wizard with Win 7.

This completely did not work for me. I have lots of networking experience and spent hours trying to figure out a reason why it wouldn't work. I then spent hours more going through the (poor) troubleshooting and customer service solutions to no avail. I ended up having to return it and opted not to try another.

I thought this would work great. I should have known, repeaters can be tricky. Things were on and off again. I sent it back.

Needed to get Wi-Fi coverage in the opposite side of my 2,400 sq. ft. home. Easy to install, works great. And with the low cost I spent a little more for the 300 Mbps version.

Easy to set up. Just connect a computer's network output to the RJ 45 connector on the Edimax and run the wizard supplied on the disk. Walks you thru nicely.

This access point works beauitfully on my network. Setup was simple and it works consistently with little or no intervention from me.

I'm using it as an access point. Setup was effortless using the software provided. I get very good coverage in our house. I think better that the base station.
