This pencil is AMAZING! It is wat it should be
This pencil is AMAZING! It is wat it should be, if not better. When you think of a kurutoga with a rubber grip, you think just that. But no. The whole mechanism was changed, but had the same system. The grip is nice and slim, and it is flush with the pencil. Let me just say that I have the Roulette model, the OG model, and this model now. The Kurutoga symbol does not move at all in comparison to the other Kurutogas that I have. There is a half orange, half white spinning piece of plastic behind a transparent Kurutoga symbol, so you can see when it is spinning. The other models I haveall have their kurutoga symbols moving. This feature looks amazing in my opinion. It means that the symbol is always there, and it changes color once in a while. This pencil is great for everyday use, but it does have cons... The pencil does not have a retractable tip. It is plastic and extremely light(It is a con in my opinion.) Overall, this pencill is great. I got it early by a few weeks, but the full shipping was 2 months(not too happy about that, but it id from Jpan, so meh), The pencil is recommended for everyone that has a lot of writning work to do.

Great pencil for writing print letters
Great pencil for writing print letters, and Asian languages with a lot of strokes. The turning feature keeps the lead rotating for even lines that whole time. The eraser works, but with the Japanese design they see the on pencil eraser as an emergency eraser. Lead wise, it does work with typical Pentel HB lead, but you get less breakage if you use the Kuru Toga lead. So I would suggest only using normal lead in a pinch. Uni Kuru Toga High Quality Pencil Lead - 0.5mm - HB ,20 Leads X 5-pack (Total 100 Leads) Value Set (With Our Shop Original Product Description) About my only complaints are that I wish they had more of these rubber gripped models, and I wish they made a double clutch model so you don't waste as much lead.

Crème de la crème...awesome tool!
What an awesome pencil! I am very particular about the writing utensils that I use, and was extremely happy with the comfort and build of this pencil. Perfect weight, attractive design, both while being quite professional in looks. As a Chemistry major, I am constantly working out equations and practice examples. Although this pencil will not be replacing my Pentel GraphGear 1000, it is still great for casual writing and drafting. So, if you are looking for a simple yet attractive writing utensil, I would recommend this 10/10. Enjoy! (Also got too excited about a dang pencil, so I apologize for the nerdy-ness!)

Great Pencil Overall
Works great but I wouldn't recommend for writing in English or any language with lots of curves because there is actually quite a bit of friction between the lead and the paper when you try to do some sort of curvy movement. This could also be because I haven't been using the type of lead they recommend and made especially for this pencil. Nonetheless, I think this pencil is more suitable for writing in japanese, or say chinese, which has dominantly short straight strokes. Rotating barrel works as it should, rubber grip isn't too big or too small, weight of the pencil is just right. But the rotating barrel is useless if you're planning to write in English since you won't be wearing down the lead tip as evenly as you would if you wrote in say, Japanese, if that makes sense. I have 2 of the Kurutoga standard models ones as well. I would say this design is a bit more comfortable and sleek. Nonetheless, this is a great pencil but I would advise you to keep in mind the style of your writing (if its curvy and with lots of round letters) and whether you're willing to continue to invest in the specialized lead.

nice writing instrument
Lead feed and rotation work well to keep a decent point. Feel is good; I think I prefer the Stadtler, but not by much. I just ordered another Kuru Togu, a Rotator. But then we shouldn't be spending this much on a pencil, should we? <g>

Way to go!
I have always been a Kuru Toga fan. The reason is because the lead slightly spins in a clockwise direction every time you press it down. All of this feels natural, so you do not have to worry about the spinning actually bothering you when you are writing something down. I believe that this is the 3.0 version of the Kuru Toga Mechanical Pencil. All 3 versions work similarly, but the designs are different. I find that many people will enjoy this version, as the grip is made out of rubber, and also covers the entire bottom of the mechanical pencil. The first version had a rubber grip, but the grip was wayyy to small. The second version has a grip that looks similar to to this one, but it is made out of plastic, or metal, something hard like that, which starts to hurt your hands after some time. The reason why the spinning lead is good, is because it automatically keeps the lead sharp. You turn have to manually turn your mechanical pencil around just to start writing again in the sharp side. With Kuru Toga, every writing is even. However, with other mechanical pencils, the writing slowly gets thicker, and when you turn your mechanical pencil around to write on the sharper edge, the writing is suddenly very, very thin. It looks awkward, but with this, you do not need to worry about it at all. Another advantage I've seen with Kuru Toga, is that since the lead gets slightly pushed very time it spins, it also means it can endure some of the shock, when someone writes with the mechanical pencil very much power. Unless it is your intention to break the lead, I found it very hard to break the lead under normal circumstances when I was using it to study.

pencil is pretty good, but be warned
pencil is pretty good, but be warned, its very easy for the pencil to paint scratched off, its the type of paint that if you chip it on something, the rest starts to flake off. especially if you accidentally scratch the chip with your nail

The rubber grip and the slightly medium weight of the pencil allows me to put desire pressure on the paper and also the mechanism does its job for me very well, i do have the roulette model which is better than this but i bought this for my collection and also roulette model nib got damaged.. So go for if you want some rubber grip instead of metal grip(roulette model) and also it have the old uni kuru toga mechanism, which i prefer to use for my sketches.
