Works Great just cannot lower it to paint
The Light works great. The mounting style uses two heavy steel clips that do not bend but rotate open and closed to hold the light securely. I did not see a problem with this method until I tried to remove one of my lights. I cannot get it to rotate back to undo the tension on the clips to take the light down. I cannot pry it down, because I put the mounting clip directly above the old spring tension retaining hole, so I cannot pry it down, nor can I get enough leverage to twist it back to release the clip, so if and when I have to remove it, I will have to pry it off ruining both the light and the drywall.I like the looks of the fixture and the lense it is hard to tell that it is a flourescent.PatP.S. I also installed a 6" model and it works as it is supposed to (repaint the ceiling area where it was installed and it was easy to rotate, and lower to paint underneath the light, then reinstall the light.

Install depth too high
This product gives out nice color (not bluish white). However, the install depth was too deep for our existing 6" cans. Much cheaper at Home Depot at $20.

Light output better than expected!
I only replaced one of three Halogen light bulbs in the hallway with the Ecosmart to see if there was a noticeable difference. I have to say the results were better than expected. The light output was slightly less but not enough to complain about and the color was also very close. I also like the fact that the LED itself recesses into the trim a little so you are not blinded by the light if you look directly at it. As the Halogen light bulbs burn out in my can lights, I plan on replacing them with the Ecosmart LED's until all 16 of my can lights have been replaced. The only reason I did not give this a 5 star rating is the cost. Even though it will take a while to recover the cost of the LED with the savings on the electric bill, the ecological benefits in lower greenhouse gases makes it well worth the price. Once more and more people start accepting this technology, as they have in Europe for years, the price will come down.

Flickers
I bought these based on several comments that these lights do not flicker. However, they definitely flicker for us. Other LED bulbs we have in the house don't flicker.

Great Replacement and Easy to Install
Have tried to replace some other bulbs with LEDs, but have been disappointed by either the harsh-white color or other issues. I ordered one of these inserts for our home office where we have four 6" cans lights. When I read the directions, I could not accept that the exchange was going to be as easy as indicated. It nearly was. There is an excellent brief video on YouTube which reassured me. Due to the style of can I have, I had to do the following, which takes much longer to write than to actually do it:1. Remove existing bulb (20 seconds).2. Remove trim by lifting the two springs in the can (15 seconds).3. Undo wing nuts holding top of can in place (video explains height requirements) (30 seconds).4. Pull two large tabs (formerly held by wing nuts) inward to invert and pull down top of can with socket (30 seconds).5. Remove socket from top plate with 1/4" nut driver (only needed to loosen and rotate socket bracket and a flat-blade screw driver would have worked) (30 seconds).6. Since wires to socket came through a hole in the top plate (you may have a different style), I used tin snips to cut a small slice and then manually bent the top plate to free wires (45 seconds).7. Pulled out unneeded top plate (10 seconds).8. Screwed LED into socket and left it dangling while I restored power to ensure it worked. It did. (1:30 because my electrical panel is in basement.)9. Extended "arms" of LED as per instructions and inserted into old can (20 seconds).10. Done! That same day I ordered three more for the remaining cans and all are now installed, look great, have better illumination "cone" than original bulbs, and work fine with existing incandescent dimmer.I can't speak to longevity yet, but so far these are working better than I had hoped for, and installation was easy!

Best 6in Recessed LED Fixture I've found so far
I had several goals in mind when looking for the best LED- As bright as 65W flood lights- Clean looking trim, all white- Fits my 6in cans with minimal fuss- Energy saving (obviously!)- Air tight, to also save on HVAC costs- Dimmable, and preferably compatible with my older analog dimmer controls- Warm white light, not harsh bright whiteThese lights are great, met all my goals, and ended up being less money than most of the others I considered,The quality of light is very similar to the incandescent 65W floods that these are replacing. As the LEDs dim, the light does not get warmer like incandescent bulbs do, but it's fine. They are instant on, no delay whatsoever, and there is no buzz with my dimmer. At full brightness, they are slightly brighter than the 65W bulbs they are replacing. Installation was ridiculously easy, no tools required. My only negative comment is that the trim on these lights does not include any sort of rubber or foam gasket to seal against the ceiling. I know I can buy these in bulk for less than $1 ea, so no big deal, just be warned and remember to buy the trim separately (optional, but recommended) when you buy these lights so that installation is done once.
