Easy Assembly - Works Great
First off, know that I am not a hobbyist using this for intricate models. I volunteer to 3-D print assistive technology devices and use it only for cutting out foam inserts for shipping these devices. For that, it works perfectly. The fence positions quickly for cuts as precise as I need them. My only complaint is that the wire spool was mounted on the overhead arm and it's so small that I didn't see it right away and it was not mentioned on the parts list causing me to initially think that it wasn't included. I eventually noticed it and all was right with the world. This went together quickly and I could have been up and running in 5 minutes if I hadn't wasted time looking in the discarded packing material for the spool of wire. Considering the low price for this entry-level cutter, it's a great value.

It works
This is the only foam cutter I've ever used, but it does the job. So far I've just cut sheets of polyurethane foam. Cutting 3" sheets is not very fast but that's probably to be expected. When assembling, I used a square to make sure that the wire would be held at 90 degrees to the work surface and found that I could not adequately adjust the metal arm (side to side) to get it square. I had to ream out a couple of the holes in the mounting bracket with a drill bit to allow enough play to do so. Not a huge deal for me personally but something to be aware of.

Packaged wonderfully
Came in great shape and have had zero issues with it. Only regret and only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars was horrific instructions on how to set it up. A lot of guess work, but not too difficult.

Good Quality
Very well made, good quality, easy to use. tested with 1/2" thick rigid Styrofoam and 1" thick rigid XPS. Very clean-cut good temperature control. Good assembly instructions.

good, durability is questionable
easy to use, cuts easily as well. however, its not very durable. the wire it came with would snap every 3-4 cuts of standard XPS. however, the wire is fairly long, and i cut dozens of 2x2x1" cubes without much fuss/problem.

Well crap
Easy to set up. But when I turned it on it wouldn’t cut anything. At first I thought there was supposed to be an invisible laser cutting stuff….nope, just a missing wire.

Mine didnt turn on, and it came without the wire that heats up.
Came without the wire, so I had to go and buy an extra wire. Once I set it up, it didnt turn on at all. The regulator lights up green when plugged into the wall, but once you plug into the cutter, the green light goes off, the regulator heats up, but not the cutter.
