Great markers for a horse riding arena
I'm using these markers in and around my dressage arena, so after the arena is dragged, I know where to put my letters. I also use these markers to mark a 20, 10 and 7 meter circles. Soooooo helpful to know exactly how to bend my horse for the perfect geometry. The way these are designed, a nail fits into the metal bracket to secure the whisker into the ground. I dig a hole about 3-4" down, then with a hammer, bang the nail way down into that hole and the arena bed before replacing the footing. Just the top 4" of the whisker sticks up. They are soft, very visible and weatherproof. Plus, they allow me to use a deep ring drag directly over them. I never have to re-measure where my markers go.The only con I have is that this orange color isn't fade proof. Prior to this order, I picked up some green ones at Lowes which WERE fade proof. I can still use the faded whisker, so it's not a loss in any way. Some may find that even better.

Mower grabs and destroys them if too high.
If you plan to mow over these you MUST pay close attention to the depth. I tried to leave them just high enough that I could see them. My thought was that the mower would "trim" them if they were just slightly too high. That was a bad assumption. In a tribute to the durability of the individual fibers....the mower won't cut them, won't brush them out of the way, but will grab them, rip them out of the ferrule, and distribute them over your lawn. In some cases it will pull the spike. I went with green ones to try to keep a long property line subtlely noticeable when mowing. It worked a little too well so this time I am going yellow and will plant them a little deeper to keep them out of the blades.

I would be satisfied if they lasted through a 6 month 'off' season
Received these a few days earlier than was scheduled, so that was a bonus. Used them to mark a high school grass soccer field so that when the line paint wears off we don't have to spend hours running around with tape measures and trying to remember the Pythagorean formula. We can simply pull a string line from whisker to whisker and paint the line. The color is bright and visible, almost a neon. The stake hole is made of a solid metal that clamps around the vinyl whiskers. You have to purchase the stakes separately - not a big deal. They've been through one mowing already and were all still in place and perked up. Hopefully we don't have to replace them very often. I would be satisfied if they lasted through a 6 month 'off' season.

Red fades quickly; blue keeps color longer
These are a good alternative for flags when you don’t want to keep removing and replacing markers. I did find that the red ones ( for marking electrical lines) fade after six months or so in even modest sunshine. The blue ones have held their color for most of a year. the whiskers are strong enough that if the tips are clipped with a lawn mower blade the whole assembly will be ripped out of the ground. Take care to insure they are place well below moving height.

Work Great!
Used these to delineate parking spaces in a gravel lot. Was tired of painting lines for the parking spaces.

Great for Locating Sprinkler Heads
I used these to locate my sprinkler heads in the yard. This way I can dodge the heads when I aerate the yard. I can just leave them in and mow over them without having to remove them. I choose the bright green ones so they are close to matching the grass. They come neatly packaged in a resealable plastic container.

Best field markers EVER!!!
These are a life saver!! We use them to mark our Fall Football field and it makes it so much easier when we paint the lines or if the rain has washed off the paint we still have a reference. They stand up about 3 inches above the grass and the city has mowed the field multiple times and they are still standing. The ends get a little frayed but noting to be concerned about. We used 8” spikes from the home improvement store and hammers them in about an inch below ground to be sure that they are not a hazard to players. Great buy!!
