The Best Children's Music Ever!
We absolutely LOVED this music when my kids were children! It was originally recorded by Disney and sold on records (yes, real vinyl!), and it was billed as music for children between the ages of two and five. Disney misjudged not only the mass appeal of the rendition of these songs, but the range of people (of all ages) who would come to love this music. I bought it on two audio tapes when my children were small, and was immediately struck by the sheer quality of the performances. Several reviewers commented that the Disney Children's Choir that often accompanies lead singer Larry Groce becomes a bit monotonous after a while; I must respectfully disagree. The arrangements are so unique and dynamic that I never tire of listening to them. Thirty years later, they are still as delightful as the first time I ever heard them. Groce is one of those unique singers whose voice somehow fits every, single song no matter what it is. Whether it's "Waltzing Matilda", "Down in the Valley," or "Froggie Went A-Courtin'," his amazing voice sounds like he was born to sing each song. This collection of more than 180 songs in four volumes has such a wide range of appealing and classic songs that there's something for everyone, no matter their age. Disney re-released the collection on four CDs in 1991, and there's nothing like this music anywhere on the planet. There are funny songs, happy songs, sad songs, and tunes that are practically "national anthems" in the part of the country where they originated. Many are toe-tapping, rollicking songs, and others have a tale to tell. A few are hauntingly beautiful, and some are the best renditions I have ever heard of great classics--bar none. Almost all of it is, quite simply, great music. A word of caution, though: Be sure to ask the seller if the product for sale is EXACTLY like the picture in the listing, and ask about the spelling of the word "Favorite." If it was manufactured in Canada or Australia, it will be spelled "Favourite." If none of that matters to you, buy the CD anyway; the music is all the same, and it's still fantastic. One last word of caution: Disney put out several albums with similar titles; to get the music in this review, be sure Larry Groce is listed as performer with the Disney Children's Choir. Enjoy!

Great Classic childrens songs on CD
We had this album when our kids were growing up...long before CD or MP3s were even invented, but with the arrival of our first grandchild, we wanted to enjoy the songs again. We had given the albums to a friend to convert to CD/MP3, but it took him forever to do it, so when I saw this used CD's at a good price, I went ahead and purchased it and was happy I did.

Brings Back Good Memories
I had this as a cassette tape in the 90s when I was a young child. I listened to the tape as I got older and it eventually disappeared. I've thought about it ever since and I hunted for the name of the tape and found the list of songs. I remember all the songs! I HAD to buy this CD. I'm very pleased I could cry. <3

Shoo Fly Get Out of My Head!
After the success of volume 1, I bought volume 2 and 3 for my 6 month old grandson who kicks his feet and swings his hands whenever he hears the CD and when I sing along to him! Some of these songs I sang as a kid and I sang most of these to my 3 kids. So we're singing to the next generation and I love it! His mom speaks to Itamar in Hebrew and my son and I in English and we're sure these songs will help him learn English (but even my daughter-in-law who is Israeli and never heard these songs is walking around the house singing them too). The collection is fun and varied and Larry Groce has a lovely voice. The only problem is that when we play it,none of the adults in the vicinity can get the song "Shoo Fly" out of our heads and wind up singing it all day.

More great music from Disney
This music is perfect for children and they love the pleasant voices of the chorus and Larry Groce. I used all these Disney favorite song CDs in my preschool classes and now my grandchildren want to listen to them. When my own children were small I had these albums in vinyl and cassette tape. I was thrilled to be able to find them again in an up to date format. They've been favorites for me for over 30 years now. They've stood the test of time!

GREAT MUSIC
I have been buy these for my son since I saw the first one on a tape. He has Down's and he loves the songs. I must admit I like them too. He has gone through three tapes and four CD. I was so happy I found them again. Now my Grandson is listening and loving them too. I recommend this music to everyone. Great music and fun memories. I am getting three copies of each CD in the series so I will have replacement when they wear out again.

Expect kids to love it, adults to be annoyed...
I bought this album, along with the other volumes available, for my children, to keep them engaged on car rides. The songs are classic, with a Disney twist. Think: Disney World. They're very "animated", engaging for children, a little silly, pretty cute, but can become quite old and annoying for adults, if your kids love them so much that they request the songs over and over (you know how this goes...), it's a blessing and a curse. Yep, your kids are having a grand old time, but you're sitting there, rolling your eyes, mocking the songs, lol. All in all, it does what it's MEANT to do: entertain CHILDREN.

OMG! =)
I had the cassette when I was a little girl... my mom said I used to go to sleep to it every night. The cassette lasted for my younger sister. 20 some odd years later I still have it, although I don't have a cassette player so since I'm expecting a little girl of my own I just had to buy this one and the rest of the series... OMG listening to the samples brings back sooooo many happy memories and I still remember all of them enough to sing along - I'm giddy! I loved these songs soooo much and I know my baby will too.
