Love it
GENERAL: Overall very happy with it. It fits my largish LG G3 (slightly bigger than the Apple 6).I like the adapter most because it is slim and portable and adjustable, easily fits ina pocket without any bulk. And the price is right! I use to use velcro to rig my phone to my tripod so this little item saves the day!USAGE: For photogaphy, it's awesome, it's slim and the design is very open so I can access any part of the phone without it getting blocked like the bulkier designs out there. I can take group pictures on my phone now since my phone also has a 10 second timer delay so I can get into every picture now!I also use it to record off my DVR'd TV shows off my widescreen HDTV when i want to capture short clips or entire episodes of favorite shows. Yeah I can youtube some things but the video quality on my LG can capture SuperHD levels videos, and not everything that I want to save is on youtube. I can frame my widescreen TV image precisely onto the phone with the help of this little adapter. I use to hand-hold my camera believe it or not but that was tiring and the videos were wobbly. I love this little adapter thin the more I use it.CAVEAT: Beware when you are trying to move the phone around on the tripod, the phone might pop-out so make sure your phone is protected by a durable case or that you are not on a concrete ground, or just be aware to hold on to the phone when you are making adjustments to the phone while attached on the tripod. The fit is snug but not tight.GRIPES: I worry if one day the springs or the rubber pull tab might break though...we'll see. The pull tab should have been made of hard plastic or even metal

A Great Way To Take Gratitous Selfies Without Stretching Your Arms Way Out And Looking Silly
This is a solid tripod mounting product for my Samsung Galaxy S6.It is a snug, tight grip. Almost too tight, but tight is better than loose, right? Now I can mount my phone where a real camera could go, and using a blue tooth remote I also picked up.I can now gallivant around in front of the phone, snapping pictures and movies. (Or the self-timer can work too)It's like a selfie stick, without the stick! (That way you can't "put an eye out" or something like that.)And if you saw what my disc dog can do, you would understand this vanity need of mounting my phone to take pics of myself. (check out Vader's World out there on the wild web. You'll see what I mean.)So even though some of the marketing images make no sense sometimes for a product like this (Other products confused the crap out of me... which isn't all that hard some days, depending on the caffeine levels in me), this thing works wonderfully on any tripod.

Works good for taking photos
I needed something to put on a tripod to hold my phone for photos. This works well. My only complaint is that you have to make sure it doesn't clamp down on the side buttons of the phone. However, it does hold my iphone max very securely.

Easy, Quick and Works!
I have the original iPhone X with a lot of different cases. I have an old tripod I used with my video camera back in the day. The product worked perfectly as advertised! I read all the reviews. I could see that if you had one of those giant smart phone screens it maybe a little heavy and loose. Yes to change the from landscape to to portrait is controlled by the tripod, which is a non-issue. Bottom line: Very easy and quick to attached to the Tripod and to attached the iPhone. It works! My problem is solved and I can get more return on my investment for my old tripod. I also bought a clamp from a different seller for my iPad. These things really work and are practical. Hopefully that seller will ask for a review also. So far very satisfied customer if you are using a typical smart phone.

Unusal
It has a bigger grip than most of the cell phone holders which you need if you have a case on your phone. Excellent product.

Effective Device, but Poor Quality Control
Nicely and simply engineered; seems sturdy. The spring-loaded clamp on top--pull it out, position the phone, let the clamp slide back in--holds securely enough. The device works well with my walking-stick monopod and my pocket-sized tripod. That said, the unit I received should never have passed the manufacturer's quality control, assuming it exists. The top clamp is stiff metal rod with a kink bent into the middle of it to hold a plastic pull tab, the bottom of which is the clamping surface. The unit I received had a misshapen bend and a kink much larger than the tab; hence the tab would not stay in place. I didn't have the patience to return it and wait for a replacement, so with some judicious use of a vise and pliers I was able to reform the metal to work properly. But I should not have had to do that, or it would have got 4 or 5 stars.

Updated* Phone slips out too easily. Need to rubber band it.
Update: Item Review:EFFING SUCKS! This thing has dropped my brand new Iphone 6S Plus about 3 times. I now have a crack across the screen. This is the ONLY phone I have EVER had, that I have dropped and broken.... and it wasn't even my fault. This device squeezes your phone via a spring clamp device. My phone keeps popping out at the bottom. It doesn't even matter if you try to correct it by putting it in, in the opposite angle.. the bottom part slides out and the phone WILL come out.. it's done it many times now.I have had to "jerry rig" this contraption to hold my phone SECURELY. Rubber band and a piece of scrap wood that I wedge in there to help hold it. I will be looking for an actual camera now to do my vlogs with, instead of this POS contraption. I don't see how so many people have put 5 stars on it, there's no flaw in the part, no manufacturing defect... it just DOES NOT hold my phone. Perhaps if I put it in there with another case that it would be better, but I do not use cases... I'm extremely careful with my phones.. thus why I'm so pissed at this product. Because of this product, I've now cracked my first phone and I'm 39 years old.If you're reading this, I recommend you trying a different one.. or at least put a rubber band on your phone after you install it into the holder.

Does a great job
Was delivered on time. The packaging was easy open. I purchased this to hold my iPhone 6s on a tripod. The holder attaches to the tripod using the same screw mount as a conventional camera. The phone is easy to install in the holder and feels like it is securely held. I have no concerns about the phone coming out of the mount when moving the tripod around with the phone installed.Light weight, and works with all three of my tripods, and my monopod.I would recommend it to anyone looking for an excellent way to attach your phone to a tripod.

Cumbersome positioning
Cumbersome positioning as it presses some or the other side buttons, ended up not using it at all, money wasted...

4.5 stars. Seems to work as advertised. Not sure about heavy use yet.
Seems like it will do the job just fine. I am a bit leery of longevity as the spring seems to me like it might not last through repeated use but that is just a feeling I have and I would have to use it much more than I am likely to in order to put that to the test.I saw a review where someone said that there would be metal on metal contact if your phone did not have a case. I took my iPhone 6s out of the case to test this and it seems to me that you would be hard pressed to get it to contact the 2 rounded / chromed metal parts that could come into contact with it. I think the 6s is probably one of the thinner phones on the market but I could see where a thinner phone could possibly touch those two contacts. Though I am not sure why you would be using such a phone without a case?Very simple system. Screwed into the two standard tripod threads that I tried it on without a hitch.I would have no problem recommending this to a friend.

Great adapter for my iPhone 6
This adapter is perfectly suited for mounting my iPhone 6 on my tripod. Essentially, it works as a big spring loaded clamp to hold the phone in place, and it does an excellent job of keeping it where it should be without any movement. I have an OtterBox Commuter Series case on the phone and the adapter has no problem providing enough space for the case as well. There is one small drawback (not enough to lower the score) where you have to be careful not to place the phone in the adapter in a position where it will squeeze the volume buttons. That's easy enough to avoid, though.I would certainly recommend this to someone who plans to shoot video or photos with their phone.

it was fairly sturdy. I also put electrical tape on the top ...
EDIT: Dropped my phone more than once. This is not a reliable way to hold a phone, as the top mechanism will snap closed and pop your phone out. The only scratches on my phone are a result of this product. It's not that gentle of a method of holding a phone and it arrived cracked (the part under the foam). Cheap enough that I just hot glued the bottom and it seems to be holding together, but even with the crack, it was fairly sturdy. I also put electrical tape on the top part of the clip, just in case. As for my actual usage, it works pretty well. I've had once where my phone slides off the top clip and hits the metal, so that part annoys me too.If I were to use something long-term, I wouldn't get this, but my usage is fairly rare.
