Worked great, built in regulator.
This past winter our pipes froze for the first time in 20 years living in our house. We installed this in our crawl space and it thawed out our pipes in about 6-8 hrs. And we didn't have any issues with pipes breaking or leaking. I would make sure to have a faucet open of your thawing already frozen pipes.

Great product
I've been using Wrap-on heat tapes for the last 10 years, they are easy to work with. I like the indicator light on the power cord, I can tell at a glance if the heat tape is working or not. I now have three heat tapes of different lengths. We live in a motor home and use the heat tape to keep our water hose from freezing in the winter. I've used the Wrap-On tapes down to 20 below zero and the water always flows as long as we don't loose electric power. I'm surprised that Wrap-On does not market to RV owners. This tape is superior to the type that has the temperature sensor under the insulation.

Better than expected.
It's been -20° here for 2 weeks, and I'm really surprised our water is still running. We have 20 feet of 2 1/2" black abs well pipe that is completely exposed. The pipe froze earlier this year when the temp dropped to just +22°. I installed it with some foil faced insulation like the instructions say and it's working great.

Is pilot light suppose to stay on
Not sure what to do here ?? Read instructions and they said to press the red area on the power end. The pilot light comes on but goes back out when you release the red button. It was 65 degrees out when I tried this. Wrapping my rv hydrant and water line and not sure if this thing works. Does the pilot light stay on ??? Did not really feel any heat after holding that red button down for about 10 minutes. HELP nobody ever gives a phone number to call. Should have went to Lowes

Pay attention!
I got this and put it on my pipes in the crawlspace under the house. The thermostat, ended up in a warm area, making the cable not turn on. Keep the thermostat in a cold area, and it works like a charm! :)

Good product - Very Happy.
The heating cable worked like a champ. No problems what so ever at all this winter with. The cable laid flat and installation was a breeze.

This works really great on our pipes under our house
This works really great on our pipes under our house. No more freezing pipes all winter long and it got 34 below wind chill factor. I'm very happy we bought this.

Cheap
Item did not work out of the box. Temperature "sensor" never worked, and if it did work, I'd be worrying about it breaking as it's just a computer chip wrapped in cheap plastic housing. Expected something sturdier to be sure. Would not order again.

Bought this item thinking it was brand new only to see it has been open and returned.
I purchased this thinking it would be brand new not open and returned now I’m scared to install incase the previous person has noticed a defect or it didn’t work which it maybe why they may have returned it
