How do you store this item, once opened? I've heard that garlic oil is not shelf-stable as it carries the risk of botulism.

Once opened, we recommend storing our French Infused Garlic Oil in the refrigerator for up to six (6) months.

How strong is the basil flavor? I was looking for pure basil oil (concentrate), but this might work. I want it to finish as a drizzle.

I can definitely taste the basil in this oil, but strength is a pretty subjective measure. The only way to determine how strong it is to your palate is to try it, I'm afraid.

Why would this need refrigeration after opening?

Oil is oil. It can get rancid and refrigeration prevents that. Personal use suggests that the taste of basil is strong when the oil is not heated at all, in other words, use it as a drizzle or in a vinaigrette, not for cooking.

Use this product all the time cooking or just dipping with a good bread. Don't need much of it great on pizza,pasta and vegetables.

This is SO good. I put it on pizza and it make the perfect hint of garlic. If you love garlic this is a must have, if you only like a little garlic hint and use it as a base I would do half of this and half of regular olive oil. This would make a great diet life hack with regular noodles.
