Be careful with these filters. Next time I'm buying the white 52114s.
Bought these filters for my Scag Freedom Z lawn mower. I removed the Scag factory installed Hydro Gear 52114 white filters and and tried to install these "new" black 52114 filters. I quickly made 2 observations. First, the new black filters have an offset in the threads. The threads actually sit deeper in the filter unit than what the white filters do. The result, you can only spin down the filter about 2-3 turns before bottoming out on the gasket. I'm used to spinning down oil filters like 4-6 turns before bottoming out. Unfortunately I did not take any measurements to back up my observations. Secondly, the threading on the "black" filter is a little tricky to line up and prevent cross threading. Again, I have never had any issues with mis-threading oil filters. I'm really surprised these genuine replacement filters exhibited both issues. Next time I'm going to order the white filters that have the correct offsets. Until them I'm watching these black filters for leaks and steering issues.

Original Hydrogear filters.
Have a zero turn mower with Hydro Gear transmissions? I bought a Snapper Pro S50XT used to do my lawn. It had 81 hours on the clock, and the mower was like new,but 5 - 6 years old. The first break in service is due at 100 hrs. so I decided to do it now. These filters are the original filters for Hydrogear 3100 and others, and not the same as engine oil filters. They were a little pricey, but need to be changed at 400 hrs. which will take about 10 years, maybe more. Nothing to worry about, original filters on Hydrogear 3100's is a must. Happy mowing.

Look and fit like the ones they replaced
Looks like the filters they replaced. I've used the white oem 52114 in the past which the dealer replaced with black oem 52114 filters. These are the black ones. They say genuine Hydro Gear oem "made in China". Thought Hydro Gear filters were "made in USA".

Only one of the two filters was usable
One filter threaded on just fine but I never could get the second one to screw on in spite of 30 minutes of gently feathering it. Finally had to re-install the old filter. Now I have one new filter and one old one on my mower. Two members of my immediate family each own and operate auto repair shops. Each say the same thing... my experience is typical of the lack of quality they deal with daily regarding parts manufactured in China, as many are, including these.

O.E.M Filter
The Original. Works flawlessly on my Raptor mower transmissions. These filters came with the original transmission. I would not sacrifice quality when it comes to an expensive mower.

Raptor SD 54" hydro filters
I could've replaced my hydro filters with cheaper aftermarket ones, but since my mower is still under warranty I decided to use them OEM filters. Changed the filters about 20 hours ago, no issues. Will buy again for my next hydro change.

OEM filters...they work
Used these and a big bottle of 20w50 oil to do the hydro service on my mower, they are the correct part # according to manufacturer and they fit.

Functions as a filter should . . .
What more can be said about this filter other than it works as described. Easy to change. Color did change from white to black but if you check the item number remains the same.
