I have coveted this book for years in the bookstores of Colonial Williamsburg. If you have ever visited CW, you know what beautiful late 18th & early 19th century furniture pieces they have. This book discusses and illustrates their extensive collection. It is a must for the classical furniture lover. The only thing holding me back from buying this book was its $79 retail price tag. A recent Amazon sale allowed me to buy this exquisite volume for just $39! Thank you for my Christmas present!

Williamsburg Furniture
This book is ideal to peruse through furniture history. A little history on the craftsman and the item makes an interesting read. For those interested in the craft of wood working or antique enthusiast. I enjoyed this book very much.

Price?
An excellent reference for cabinetmakers. As of September 2011 it's still available from Colonial Williamsburg website for $79. I don't understand the exorbitant prices from reselers

A Woodworker's Must-Have
This book is incredible! If you've ever seen any of the furniture collection at Colonial Williamsburg, this book gives you all the details on the key pieces in the collection that the tour-guides just can't answer. Each piece is photographed, both exterior view and an interior view (drawers out, doors open, etc...), and full measurements. The best feature is that it also provides extensive history on the style and construction of each piece, complete with construction details (down to every last dovetail!). I picked it up for the woodworking information, but this book is also excelent for the historian.
