Good stands, good price, good deal...
... but could always be better.Like others on Amazon, I purchased these stands mostly based upon price. Getting to stands for 40 bucks [with free shipping on Prime] was a bargain to say the least!I've used these stands about a half-dozen times and they do exactly what I need for them to do - support my speakers. I use American Audio ELS15A speakers and they weigh about 25 lb each. These stands hold the speakers without any problem. The speaker cabinets are probably about 2 foot high by 18 in square. The supports are made of aluminum and have plastic fittings. The extending Pole has a half-dozen holes drilled at preset Heights. As mentioned by others, be sure to use the PIN through the hole as your basic support tighten the nut just to keep solid.Be sure to use these stands properly. Don't try to force them open or try to hold more speaker then they're rated for by weight. They will serve you well if you serve them well.My only complaint is that the extending Pole will spin in the Tripod base. I can mount my speakers and tighten the nut on my speaker to hold it to the pole but the pole itself will spin within the tripod base. Are the materials not the highest of quality? Sure. Is it possible to break the plastic fittings? Of course! But what else are you expecting for 40 bucks for the pair? They are good solid stands for a very good price. If you don't beat them up, they will serve you for a long time. Do not force them or over tighten the nuts and you will be fine.

Stands will last a long time if handled sensibly
UPDATE: July 2023 - I STILL HAVE and STILL USE these speaker stands regularly, and they're as good now as they were SEVEN YEARS ago when I originally wrote this review. Follow these tips and you'll still be using them in 2030!------I bought these at the cheapest price I could find at the time for stands that essentially were the same from various vendors. You can pay much more, but you don't have to if you use common sense in setting up these stands. Here's the tips:The joints are all plastic and if you fight physics, you'll break them. So don't. When opening and adjusting the legs, there is a "sweet spot" where both raising and lowering the center pole will cause the legs to contract. Find that spot and gently twist the lock knob to set the legs. You don't have to overtighten it if you use the physics of the sweet spot. If you fight the physics, you'll have to twist the lock knob so hard that you'll eventually break the joint.Same thing with setting the upper pole height. Use the lock pin to set the height, and lower the pole until the lock pin rests tight against the lower section. Then gently twist the lock knob to set it. Again, if you fight the physics and try to use the lock knob to hold the upper pole (without using the pin), you'll have to twist the knob so hard that you'll eventually break it.I've set up these stands to hold 12" speakers more than 20 times so far (a couple month's of ownership) and haven't had a single problem. The speakers have been rock solid when the stands are on a firm base (even in a windy outdoor setting). If you let some ham-fisted dude set these up roughly, well, they're not going to last long - the plastic joints are sure to split and break. But if they're set up sensibly (i.e., no overtightening of the knobs), they should last for a long time.

Super lightweight but not very sturdy.
I got these because I needed a less expensive quick solution. These are super light but maybe too light. I wasn't comfortable putting a 55 lb passive speaker on it. It worked fine but I felt it was going to collapse if I touched it. The part where you adjust the hight of stand is not secured. It literally just pulls right out with the vertical telescoping pole! This must be by design to save cost because there's no hardware to secure it in place. When I pulled my speaker off the adjustment fixture pulled up with it! These are good for a cheap lightweight solution for a small lightweight speaker that you want to elevate high (height capabilities are great) but I didn't have the peace of mind that my heavier speakers were safe nor the people dancing near them.

Let’s see how long they last…
They get the job done, but they are definitely wobbly. I wouldn’t use these with older, heavy speakers but it holds my fender passport conference speakers. Noticed some manufacturing issues but needed them for a gig ASAP so I kept them but very skeptical how long they will last. **Coming back over a year later to say these are still going with no issues

Great Price & Does the job they were meant to do!
These Speaker Stands, FOR THE PRICE, are pretty great. The ONLY reason I give them 4 stars, is because they seem to have some quality issues. Nothing crazy because, like I said, the price alone makes them well worth it.I've actually only used them a couple times since purchasing... but BOTH TIMES... the plastic cap on the top of the pole has fallen off.lol.. ...Then I have to go chase it down... find it... put it back on... yada yada yada. hahahaha.I know... I know.... it's EXTREMELY minor... and the fact that a little glue will probably take care of it.I'm not lazy or anything, but the fact is, if I have to alter the original product so that I am 100% COMPLETELY satisfied with my purchase...well... then it's not 5 stars in my book.HOWEVER, with that being said... I'm still quite satisfied with this purchase.

Good product
These stands are a good product but probably not the greatest for frequent and regular use. One of them the screw on one of the legs came off the support piece on the leg which compromised the sturdiness of the leg. Overall great if you are not using them once or twice a week, we have kept them for back up purposes.
