Tommy HilfigerWomen's Mid Length Down Fill Coat with Faux Fur Trim Hood

I literally just got this coat in the mail- took advantage of a Cyber Monday sale from Amazon and got this coat for $80. I would say it's a steal! I'm actually a fan of fiber fill over down- my down coat only lasted one winter because of the feathers coming out and it was way more expensive. I only had it on for a few minutes but I managed to get pretty hot just sitting on my couch in that time, so I think it'll keep me warm. I did order a size up than what I would normally get because of the reviews. I'm a 35-36 bust, about 5'5 and 145lbs, and the large fits only slightly tight with a heavy sweatshirt and long sleeve tshirt. Considering I bought this more to wear with work clothes and such, it's a very good fit. The only thing I'm not a fan of is the fur, but there are so many other great little details that I can give it a pass. Snaps and zippers seem to be good quality and seated firmly, there's a guard over the zipper so you don't scratch your nose, sleeves are long enough, pockets are perfectly placed, and the belt isn't super floppy since only the ends are actually free. Buckle seems quality too. I am rather short-waisted, and the belt hits me perfectly right in the waist, so if you are taller it may feel a little more like an empire waist to you. Length hits about mid thigh and definitely roomy enough around my fairly wide hips. Great, great coat and absolutely fabulous sale and of course, prime shipping never disappoints.

First things first: yes, like other reviewers pointed out this coat is NOT down but "down alternative". However I don't see this as a bad thing (less to worry about with the feathers poking out and what not). The coat has a great fit and it feels cozy and warm, it is "padded" but the belt and the fit helps you still look like a lady and not like the Michelin man.More about the fit: I am 5'7" (170cm) and about 145 pounds (66kg approx) and after reading the reviews I didn't know if I should get medium or large. I wanted the coat to fit me with a sweater underneath, but not so big that it loses the feminine fit. I ended up getting the medium and it fits great. The only con is that the sleeves are just a little bit on the shorter side.The color: whoever named it "crushed violet" has a bit of a colorblindness problem or else though that it was a good marketing name. The coat actually has the color that you can see in the picture: like red wine or cranberry, with the navy blue line around the zipper and pockets. It looks great.The hood also fits great and the faux fur is soft to the touch. The fur part does not detach, but you can remove the whole hood with just a few buttons.Overall the coat looks solid, warm and good quality. I haven't washed it yet so I cannot comment on that, but I got this on a special sale for $80 and definitely worth it.

This jacket is very nice. I love the hood and that you can take the fake fur off (it's ugly, imo). I love the cuffs. I love the chevron styling. I don't like the overall shape -- it's made for someone pear-shaped, narrow shoulders and chest, with wider hips. If you are the opposite, or more rectangular, like me, you need to consider that. I feel like it's two different sizes in the same coat. Medium on top and large on the bottom. I can't wear a layer under it--I'd be walking around with stiff arms. Also, the bottom is flared, which is great for mobility, but there is no drawstring at the waist, so cold air can get in. I'd bet they did that to save on the cost of a double zipper. Since I wanted this jacket to have something to throw on to walk the dog and run errands, it should work fine for me, anyway. It looks nice. I do wish the shoulders were a little more roomy, though. The insulation makes it really warm, warmer than I wanted, and without some room in the shoulders, no air gets in.

I wanted an attractive coat that would cover my butt and of course keep me warm in my long walks to my college courses (I live in Michigan).I'm more than satisfied with this coat. I am about 5'7", 145 lbs, I have a thinner upper body and wider hips and thicker thighs.I can wear a thick hoodie underneath and it fits snug, but not too tight. The coat hugs my hips well but is not tight. It reaches almost perfectly midway on my thighs. The sleeves fall at about an inch below my wrist bones when my arms are relaxed.It's very slimming and flattering. I have never felt like a marshmallow in the coat.I like the belt but I took it off so it's easier to put on and take off and it looks just as good without it.Besides the perfect fit, the coat keeps me warm!I have actually found myself walking outside without it zipped when the temperature is around freezing.My sister borrowed it and is now planning on getting one for herself.

I ordered this one size up, because I like it to be loose and i can wear thick clothes under. And it is exactly as i wanted it to be. it looks good and does not show that it is larger than my size. The sleeves have a proper length and keeps warm inside which is great.The hood is fluffy and soft and adorable. My head can fit in the hood and be comfortable even if I wear a beanie.The length is as described in the description. Up the knee.And it if fluffy, which is good.

I am glad I sized up on this - while I am sure my usual size would have fit, it would have most likely been snug w/ a sweater underneath. For a puffy coat, this is quite flattering - I think the chevron cut of it helps to not make me feel like the Michelin man that some of the other puffy coats w/ the circular puff rings. And while I haven't been able to test this is our extreme cold yet, I have been out in around 30F w/ a 20 degree wind chill & felt toasty! I also like that the hood isn't massive on this coat - often, coats have hoods that are massive & wind gets up in there if I don't wear another hat - this one does not have that problem!

Ordered it for my MOM.She usually wears XL but i ordered XXL and guess what it was a perfect fit.She liked the length as well and its very light weight and warm.

Wearing this coat makes me feel like I'm wrapped in luxury! The material is soft, the shape is very flattering (nice nipped in waist). I ordered a size XL and it is a little big on me (who's a size 14 with wide hips) so I would say it would fit a size 16 perfectly. If I could, I would exchange for a large instead. Fits me mid-thigh lengthwise (I'm 5'7"). The hood is nice and not overly large and the faux fur trim is very nice and is removable. The pockets are big enough for you to put your hands in.

It fit perfect! Great quality. Can't wait to wear it in the winter.
