My Maltese barks at all the neighbors all the time. Some of the neighbors deserve the barkings and the barkings are highly encouraged and rewarded. When the trash truck comes he absolutely goes berserk and I pick him up and run with him over my head at the trash man like Leatherface with the chainsaw. Every Monday the trash man takes our trash anyway despite the auditory threat. The Trashman smiles and waves while he hops on the back of the truck and makes his escape every week. Many people do not realize Malteses make excellent guard dogs. What they lack in size, strength, intelligence, self preservation, vision, hearing and smelling they can make up for in humor. Natures joke of an animal Maltese’s are completely incapable of taking care of themselves or even surviving without a modern day human companion in a human made living indoor habitat. If any normal sized creature acted like the psychopath my Maltese is he would surely be put down. But due to his complete ineffectiveness at anything my dog is loved by the entire community despite this community being my dog’s sworn enemies. Everyone laughs and pets him as he shakes and cowers when actually face to face with his perceived threats. Small children pick him up and squeeze him until his eyes bulge. He is forced to wear demeaning costumes all year long. He especially hates the costumes with hats which are my personal favorite. My wife dyes his hair various colors which leave him looking kind of like a Teddy Bear / My Little Pony. If we leave him in the house alone for more than an hour he begins to howl but his tiny lungs can’t sustain the air pressure so it kind sounds like it fizzles out like the raspy crackly voice of a teenager going through puberty. When he begins the decent into his poop motions he spins in a circle over and over and touches his butt down many times before finally committing like a pilot landing in a crosswind. Once he poops his tiny little pinky finger sized poop he immediately begins violently kicking his hind legs and spins in a triumphant circle again just before darting off into a random direction forgetting he is on his lease. Any normal sized dog might break free from their owner with such a sudden sprint but his 6 lb body just gets absolutely wrecked when he gets to the end of the leash. He always gets up and looks around to see if anybody witnessed his most recent idiotic episode. Sometimes he lets out a tough guy howl to reestablish a dominance he never had which backfires with yet another trailing off into a whimper of a howl sometimes followed by a cough. This dog food has kept him alive. He eats it every day and he is a Maltese. I purchased this brand because it has a Maltese on the cover so it made more sense than a dog food with a different kind of dog on the cover. I wish motor oil was this easy to pick out but instead you have to memorize a bunch of numbers representing oil weight and such. If everything just used pictures then everything would probably be as great as my dog. I would recommend this dog food and I would recommend my dog but only one is for sale on Amazon and the other is currently terrorizing my neighbors 2 year old through the window in my front door.

My Maltese dogs love this for a "treat". This is a dry food treat for when they are not eating their regular meal. They use it as a 'snack'. They really enjoy it as it is a clean non-smelling food to have sitting in a dish on the floor for them when they just pass by. They really do enjoy it. They do not eat too much of it. It appears to be a nutritious snack for them. It is a great value for the money as opposed to more expensive snacks which do not have the food value.

I have a 6 years old Maltese. He is not a very picky eater but we normally prefer to cooking his food using fresh ingredients. Sometimes we need some prepared dog food just in case we run out the food or no time to cook. This is the go to dog food for us. We use it as a toppings, carrying outdoor or just give to him late night before bed if he still hungry. He seems to love this food automatically with no gap time. Digestion seems ok after introducing at the first time. We are happy about the results.

I have a great vet that is passionate a Passionate about dogs health. She gave me a list of list of 4 dog foods that don't have any bad ingredients. Royal Canine is on the list. My pup loves it!
