Lasted over 2.5 years
The timer worked flawlessly and lasted 2.5 years before wearing out; for $13 and being easy to replace, it’s well worth it. I just consider it a wear item now, and keep a spare on hand to swap out and replace as needed.

Timer was exactly replacement for my old Whirlpool garage refrigerator.
The timer arrived quickly and was a perfect match for my refrigerator. The one I got was 1/2 hp and 15 amp like the original and mounting screw holes were same size as OEM so I was able to use the original screws. The instructions for the black motor wire placement were a little confusing because I have the version 2 cumulative setup and it didn’t specifically say which procedure to use. I ended up making an educated guess and used procedure 3 because of the wire colors and it worked. So far so good. My original timer was 10 hours and this is 8 hours but I don’t think the 10 hour timer is available anymore and has been superseded by 8 hour timers. I figure since amp and hp ratings match it should be ok. It’s made in China so time will tell how long it lasts.

Sticks in defrost mode
Does not work right from the get-go. It sticks in the defrost mode. It can be manually set to run mode (by turning the dial until it clicks, which switches power from terminal 2 to terminal 4). Then it'll run fine until it ticks around to defrost mode where it sticks again. Very disappointed when something new-in-box doesn't work.

Solved my problem
I bought a used refrigerator. The existing defrost timer wasn't advancing. If I manually turned it, the defrost timer would initiate that one time, but it wouldn't do it again. This resulted in a refrigerator that wasn't cooling properly in my garage. Once I installed this the cooling capabilities greatly increased (both compartments, but especially in the refrigerator section). The price was very reasonable and now my garage refrigerator works well.

sticks on defrost not even 2 weeks old
installed and it was fine then not even 2 weeks later it was stuck on defrost. I thought it was a fluke but around 8 hours later it got stuck again. Garbage, it should last at the very least a year and I am not expecting much since the origional lasted 20 years.
