My husband was able to install this lock in no time flat. Then, it was my job to program it. I had a little trouble but I'm terrible with these things. I will tell you what helped me. Swear words. Lots of them. A little tantrum and I might have thrown something. Then I took a 10 minute break, went back to it and I got the sucker working. I would rate my skill level at this type of thing as a 2 out of 10. If you are a 3 or better, you are golden and shouldn't have any trouble.

A kwikset keypad with smart key where in I paid a handyman $50 just to install! The smart key is the worst thing it can happen to you! Guess what? I was broken in again, changed the combo, was broken in again to my amazement! How is this possible? Smart key is the culprit!Anyway, I bought the Tac Life, studied it’s instructions and watched video tutorials and lo and behold I installed it myself and did the programming as well! My son has the handle type by Tac Life with keypad on Amazon for $39 works well too!I saved $50 by installing/programming by myself instead of paying a handyman!I highly recommend their locks both keypad deadbolt and keypad door handle! I always wanted an automatic lock door. It was annoying to carry keys when I go walk my dog. I finally decided to give this product a try and I love it. It was very easy to install on our front door. It was also easy to program it. The instruction was clear and easy to understand.My only complaint is that this door automatically locks even the door is still opened. I set it as auto lock 10 seconds. So unlike those locks I saw in Asia, where the lock will stay unlock if the door is opened, this will close if 10 second is up.Other than that, I love this product. It's perfect.

It's the first time I ever installed a lock, electric or not! I watched the video twice, took some notes, found my power screwdriver and viola, I did it! All by myself..no dad, no neighbor, no locksmith needed! I bought this because I locked myself out of my house and needed a very expensive locksmith, doh! This was a lightning deal, and I said...well how hard can it be? I was right, it wasn't hard at all. Programing it is not problem either. For the key pad, I did the first step wrong and had the bolt set in lock position, it should have been in unlock position. This meant the auto-lock would auto-unlock...yikes. But it was easy to reset and fix it.

This is a quality lock and works as expected. It is good on battery life, I have the same batteries in for 5 months and no issues. I would recommend to a friend.

My old lock proved to be unsafe! There was an incident where a person who knew my combo became unsafe and removed from my home. The problem was my cheap lock! It could not be disabled without a screwdriver. In an emergency situation this was bad. My door was kicked in before I could unscrew the back and pop the battery pack out. (Deadbolt was unlocked while I was frantically looking for a screwdriver, only the door lock was engaged) NOT WITH THIS LOCK!!! There are no screws to access the batteries. Easy install, easy set up, easy to deactivate. Looks pretty too!

The lock was easy to install in an existing hole for a manual deadbolt. It fits just fine with minor adjustments in a double door. My hubby is using it on his shop doors. And it works perfectly. He said the only thing he is having a little trouble with is programming the new security code number.He didn’t want to pay $80.00 or more, so he was pleased that I researched and found this one on Amazon. It was delivered the same day early evening.
