Tarot for Troubled Times: Confront Your Shadow, Heal Your Self & Transform the World

Challenging but excellent
I wasn't sure what to expect from this co-authored book, but I was expecting more tarot talk upfront in the book. I haven't finished yet, but wanted to jot down some thoughts so far.My impression is that if you want the tarot focused portion, you should skip to section two. Part one is much more personal work, journaling prompts, and could almost be called a workbook for self exploration. The author voice feels very distinct in part one than from where the book moves onto tarot talk in part two. I can see how some readers might be turned off by feeling preached at or accused in section one. We do live in troubled times, the world is not fair, and section one is pretty in the reader's face about privilege. You can do the work, or you can skim it, or you can return it, whatever. I really liked the material in the last twenty pages or so of section one, which felt more useful and actionable to me than the preceding stuff. So - part one, which takes the reader through about page 75, only occasionally touches on tarot, and focuses more on the shadow side and has loads of journaling prompts. I'd say it's maybe a quarter of the book, or less.Part two gets into numerology and tarot, at least from this novice's perspective. This is where I really was able to dig into this book and was like, where did the last hour go?! I think there is a lot to chew on in here for me. I haven't yet finished but have had this book since it shipped and wanted to get my thoughts on it so far written and shared. Part two does not disappoint and I look forward to reading further.

If You Want To Dig Deep - This is the Book
Knowing Theresa Reed (The Tarot Lady) and the work of Shaheen Miro (Lunar Nomad Oracle), I knew this would not be a Tarot book that was fluff-filled! (Thank Goodness!). And based on the times in which we're living, both here in the U.S. and across the world, there's no better time for a book that points us in the direction of a more compassionate world. While the book loosely mirrors the Fool's Journey - taking us from light into darkness and back out again - its strength, for me, comes with exploring our shadow selves and what that means for us personally as well as the world in which we live. I loved the exploration of the Archetypes and thought the Tarot spreads were exceptionally well-thought out. The spreads truly offer a doorway for confronting our shadows and moving us into creating the world in which we want to live - again, both personally and globally.I highly recommend this book, no matter what stage of your Tarot exploration. It doesn't shy away from tough topics, nor should it. The times are too difficult to turn our backs on the issues that need confronting and transforming.

Powerful messages
It amazes me how people would leave a nasty review because this book encourages gender equality; discourages racism and White silence. Wicked sign of current times.I agree this book is light on Tarot, heavy on the shadow work and rituals though. Refreshing to read about activism and political callings. The authors offer a refreshing view of shadow work, very well written in my opinion. Valuable teachings. If anyone is looking for a refreshing take on Tarot and rituals this is a must have. Very relevant to current times, almost predictive! I will definitely be following these authors.

Approaches Shadow Work in Digestible and Relatable Ways
I purchased this book for heavier readings that may come up with my psychic clients on occasion. Really great book that approaches teaching shadow work with confidence. I've already recommended it and feel comfortable saying that I will use it to read for clients in the future. Thank you for doing us a service and writing this! Definitely tough topics that aren't all sunshine and roses❤️

Highly recommended!
This is so much more than a Tarot book. It uses Tarot along with other tools such as numerology, journaling and meditation to help us on our journey into the darkness to reveal our light. In other words, to heal and become our best selves. It then goes even further by giving us ways we can share that light with the rest of the world. The book is very well written and accessible to both experienced Tarot readers and those who’ve never held a Tarot card in their life. In short, it’s simply a joy to read and use!

Tarot for Troubled Times
This book is chock-full of healing practices. It is much beyond a tarot book as it offers extended meanings, spreads, journaling prompts, rituals and more to aid in healing not just yourself as an individual, but also your part in the collective. I have bought multiple copies of this book for friends including my teenage niece who found it very helpful.

Beyond the Magic
This is an important and vital book to have in your Tarot book collection. Theresa Reed and Shaheen Miro take a look at a side of Tarot that is so needed in the times we are currently living in. Their exercises take a look at the shadow self and transforming the negative aspects that surround us. There is also a focus on self-care and self-love within this book that I adore. I will re-read this book often and I look forward to continuing my journey of self-love and transformation.

A Tarot Book for the Real World
So happy to read this book. Definitely gave me a few "aha" moments. Loved the affirmations, positive, shadow and action mentions for each card. Definitely a book that puts tarot to use beyond the basics and applies it to real life. This is definitely a book that's going to stay on my reading table to keep near by and refer to again and again!

Irregular
