"Saves the earth and my wallet!"
Awesome device, and works great! Charges cellphone enough to last up to 4 or so hours, not all the way charged. (My cellphone has a huge oversized battery compared to other phones). This can be a lifesaver! This company this device is made from is awesome too! Called them about a week after buying this device and I said my rechargable battery in this device seems to be not holding juice well or old possibly. They sent to my address free of charge a brand new battery to install in this device which was easily swapped with around 4 screws removed that's it!

Very slow charging.
To mostly recharge it, I had to leave it out in the sun all day and periodically re-aim it so it was still pointing to the sun. If you just leave it pointing up to the sky in a gray day, it will not charge at all. For the same weight and size you are probably better off with an external battery. This does act as a small external battery capable of one cell phone recharge.

omg - it took FOREEEEVER to charge!
This product took so long to charge that it was pretty much useless. I would try days and days to get a weak charge. Now I just throw it in my drawer since I can't get myself to toss it. (Too painful to just chuck it.) I should learn how to let it go, grieve over my loss, and move on! (btw: I am in the denial stage of grief.) Good luck and hope you have better luck than me.

Maybe a defective unit?
It charges easily but it had a full charge when I plugged it into my iTouch. After 45 minutes the Solio was depleted and my iTouch had about 30% power (from full dead). That's not real great. I'm thinking I've got a defective unit though and will take it up with Solio. I went backpacking in the mountains and this was it's first trial run. Otherwise, it charges and carries quite nicely.

Great device
Works great and charges my cell phone, powers my laptop or what ever I connect to it. Purchaced from Amazon and paid less than other sites to receive same product for less! Normally priced at about $80.00-$100.00 and I paid $40.00. Great deal!

Works great
Got this for my brother in Afghanistan. It's hybrid meaning it charges batteries, and the batteries then charge the device. It can be charged with a power source like a computer, outlet, or the sun. When i first got it i charged it from my computer for about a day to fully charge it's batteries and then sent it to my brother. He said it works great and charges all of their ipods. Has a load of different connectors to charge just about anything. You will need an ipod charging cable to hook up to your ipod if you wanna charge an ipod. Very cheap price if you get the google branded one.

Not new item.
Item was advertised as new and it was not. Item was dirty and was an older model and did not have the updated connectors needed for today's electronics.

Never Charged my iPhone
I took this product backpacking. First, I wanted to test it, so I placed it outside in the sun to achieve a full charge. After 4 hours, it was minimally charged (maybe 10%), so I plugged into my laptop's USB to finish the charging, which took the rest of the day and all night to reach 100%. Let down number two occurred in the back-country, when my iPhone 3G ran low on juice after a few days of intermittent GPS use. I used the included attachments to connect my iPhone to the Solio Classic and hit the "Start" button (solio's only button--the instructions are odd pictures; no words). The iPhone registered that it was being charged; however, after 5 minutes, I checked the progress only to find that the Solio had quit charging. After attempting this nearly 30 times throughout the next few days, my iphone was none the better, in-fact it probably had less juice from the constant on/off of this disjointed charge attempt. I am unimpressed and will return this item as soon as I get home!
