Exceptional finish and insert quality so far, only cut aluminum but easy to use, already torqued inserts, seems well built for a Chinese tool. Few Chinese tools are actually good, while most are poor quality, but higher priced Chinese tools can be good quality. In this case it seems to be well made and good quality materials. Will update if anything changes. 3 inch diameter cutter is a bit aggressive for an old but well cared for and rebuilt spindle, so take light cuts. I'll likely get a 2-inch facing mill to see if that reduces the head noise under load.

Sure, its made in China, but it is well made and works great. I have a bunch of fly cutters and they work great too, but this is just so simple to use its now my go to facing tool. Inserts are pretty hardy and they can be bought by the 10 pack at really good prices. Other than where its made, I have nothing negative to post about it. Would buy another....probably a 3" one next time.

Purchased the 2 inch diameter tool a few weeks ago. Today I tried this tool for the first time. Right out of the box it worked beautifully. Used it to face a block of cast iron. Admittingly a soft material. With a 0.030 depth of cut it went right through it like it wasn't there and left a beautiful surface finish. Much better finish than a standard end mill. I'm looking forward to using it to face a piece of 4140 steel alloy - which is what I originally purchased it for.

When you need one of these,you really need one. Worked and was accurate enough for the task. 4 stars for the insert durability. They are indexable so just turn em and go. Got extras and will need them.

Being new to machining I do not know a good cutter from a bad cutter, they either work or they don't. However; it is obvious from the first few revolutions that this 3" cutter is a quality piece. I took .020 @ 650 rpm off of a piece of low carbon steel 3" wide...the finished product was smoother than I can get with a fly cutter. I will be buying other products as the need arises.

Good quality. Use it all the time for facing aluminum and cast iron. Good finish.

Disappointing, some of the inserts are contacting lower than others, could be the inserts, could be the tool itself. Poor milling finish with gouges on parts. haven't had a chance to sort it out. I’m a busy guy, I work full time, I have four kids and a wife, and I’m trying to start up my own small business. Writing reviews takes some time, and time is very valuable to people that are in similar positions as myself. I felt this is one of those products that has earned a few minutes of my time because it has performed so well. Let me start by saying I’m fairly new to milling, I don’t always know what to expect (finish wise) with each bit. Others have posted have posted that it produces an almost mirror like finish. I was not disappointed. I’m building jigs for my wood lathe out of aluminum blocks. The blocks had a few rough edges after being cut down to size. I need two pieces to go together, but slide against each other, with minimal resistance as I positioned them into place. The finish is outstanding, I liked it so much that I purchased two other sizes and had them delivered today. The product is SOLID, it fit perfectly into my R8 spindle and had no issues threading in. When cutting, it’s so beefy, there is no slop or movement. Going to order new cutting blades just for the hell of it (nothing wrong with the ones I have just want back ups).
