So helpful
The disk is stiff the first couple of times but gets easier. They seem to work better and last longer after being reactivated a couple of times. I deliver mail and these are fantastic for taking the cold burn off of your fingers.

Eco-friendly alternative & is multi-purpose
My hands and feet just stay cold and during the winter months, they stay so cold they hurt. I decided to buy these since they're reusable. The first time using each of them it was a little tough to invert the metal disc, but subsequent uses have been much easier. I use them in my gloves or pockets when out & about in cold weather, but I also use them as a replacement for a heating pad whenever my knees or neck starts hurting. They seem to stay hot for awhile and get REALLY warm at the beginning. These also make a great gift for: older adults with aches & pains, those who are exposed to the elements a lot (mechanics, bus drivers, fast food workers, etc.), and anyone who lives where it get really cold. Overall LOVE these!

Occasionally hard to "light", but otherwise good
The first time I tried these was with a pair of friends, meeting (socially distanced) outdoors in 40°F weather. I'd bought two packages (twelve warmers), and brought them all outside to keep us from freezing. A third of them "ignited" right away with a single click of the internal disc, a third of them took many tries before they "ignited", and a third refused to start at all. Quite disappointing. After a number of uses, they've gotten much easier to start: now it usually takes just a rubbing of the internal disk, and I haven't had one refuse to start in a while. Hopefully it doesn't get so easy to start that they spontaneously do so while in storage.Other than the starting problems, they work fine and give off plenty of warmth.

Easily reusable
They get very hot but don't last as long as disposable ones. They stay warm longer if they aren't left out in the open. Super easy to activate and boil to recharge. I've had them 3 years for hunting and winter activities.

Neat idea, not practical
I bought several of these because I thought the reusability was cool and made them worth it.So what I’ve noticed is eventually the material breaks down and ruptures from all the heating and cooling. This leaves you 6 or so uses at best. Some will start failing sooner and others later. The heat time is less than 1 hr. We found we needed 6 for the two of us for an hr. When you do the math, it just makes more sense to buy the one time use ones. Cool idea but it doesn’t work out practically.

So neat! Gets hot, too big for inside gloves
These are so cool! They work! Get hot and are 'rechargeable' with hot water bath. Only down side is the size- too big for inside your gloves. Great for pockets!

Works Sorta - Activates Accidentally and Very Short Heat time
The good stuff first:-> They are reusable, boil them to reset-> They produce enough heat to put inside clothing or a pocket for your hands-> Kids like to watch it "activate",.. at least its fun the 1st few times-> not very expensiveand the Bad:-> The heat only lasts about 30-45 minutes even if you kneed it as instructed-> The disk inside can be activated by a small impact, had 2 of these in glove box 2 weeks later they had both activated-> Boiling them each time is a pain, I don't consider this convenient (make sure they don't melt on the bottom of the pan)-> Too heavy for use in a hiking backpack because you would have to carry 10 at a timeThe product works as described with many limitations. In the case of hiking in colder weather with this product your lucky to see 40 minutes and the heat dissipates as time goes. I eventually opted for the zippo hand heater instead since it lasts about 6-12 hours even though you have to carry fluid. (also see true utility firestash)At best I would consider this a toy for a young child to play with but do not count on it in your car, when backpacking or in the bug out bags.
