Works good, shunt is heavy duty

Works great, more accurate than the more expensive model that I purchased previously. However the kit came with the wrong screwdriver for the tiny screw that connects 12v lead.

We have a few solar charging units and even the MPPT controller itself has a hard time giving a true value of what the battery is doing. It’s a matter of that it can’t usually measure and charge a battery at the same time and still be accurate. This is very reasonably priced versus some competitors but with all the same functionality. I wouldn’t really use this as a battery tester but it’s easy to install for a constant reading of your real time battery life. Very durable product and I expect it will last a good time!

I ordered this to compliment a lithium upgrade I am doing in an RV. I have seen a wide range of prices, some known brands, some “generic”. At the time I ordered this item, the price was $69.00, about in the middle of the price range. I’m no expert in this field, but do have a lot of RV and DC experience. I am perfectly capable of reading and following clear, readable instructions. Unfortunately, the instructions provided with this item are neither. Although I can’t say the quality of the monitor appeared cheap, if a manufacturer can’t advise the end user on proper installation, operation, and maintenance, the item is useless to me. There are too many choices on Amazon and elsewhere. I did find a popular Amazon lithium battery and accessory maker’s battery monitor, so I ordered it. It wasn’t cheap, but the instructions were clear and were even updated for improvements. I will be reviewing that one soon. At the time of this writing, the price on this item dropped to $33.99. I consider this item a poor value unless you are already familiar with how these devices operate and don’t need instructions.

I've been meaning to get one of these for a while, and finally opted for this because it's intentionally oversized for my setup. These shunts always make me nervous about failing and leaving me without power, so I figured an oversized unit is better such that it will never have its limit challenged. The meter reads well, and it looks like everything is accurate. Installation is really quite straightforward, but if installing it is a challenge, consult a professional anyways. There are a lot of similar units on the market, so I'd definitely suggest shopping around, but if the value on this makes sense, I can definitely recommend it.

This battery monitor worked out perfect for a custom portable power station I built and was very easy to install. I did you use Google to help me get everything wired as it should be for the system but this is what I would definitely say is the backbone of the system. I can constantly monitor the batteries and check on how they're doing and using it is pretty self-explanatory. The price is Good for this type of unit and it functions just as good as I could ever want it to.
