Overall, I would say this is a rather good product and am much in agreement with the other positive reviews that I've seen. I think it is an excellent investment, especially if it's used for decorative purposes, and still a rather good one if you plan on wearing it. I'll break down the remainder of this review into the three biggest concerns people have: color, wearing the mask, and shipping time.The mask is brown, as the picture shows, and there is little variation. No, it doesn't look like the actual mask from the movie due to the actual mask having and aged metallic look. However, this is as close as I think you'll come to finding a good looking replica while also remaining at a decent price. I know I sure haven't and I've tried to look for the best option.As far as wearing the mask goes, yes, it is a little painful. It's authentic that way and I feel as if a little pain helps you get into character. It sure helped me pull off a melancholy cannibalistic serial killer irritated with a lack of freedom. If you leave the mask in place, it won't be as painful as you'll become accustomed to it. Any sort of padding would help reduce the irritation, even cotton balls.Last item on the list would be shipping time. It comes much quicker than the estimated shipping period. My estimated shipping period said October 30-November 14. I placed my order on October 5 and received my order on October 16. I'd say that's much faster than the estimated date.I will include a photo of the mask below. Enjoy the mask! And excuse any and all spelling mistakes. Ok here we go its pretty decent and appears durable and its just painted so I think I might be able to make it closer to the movie tan color and some weathering and a bit aging. And YES OH GOD DOES IT HURT ACROSS THE BRIDGE OF MY NOSE. You can tough it after a minute or two. But I went with a better idea. I started with a 1/2 inch bar poured boiling water over the nose and slowly tapped it down some and repeated with a 3/4 bar . it doesn't dig into my nose now .

Thick resin. Hard and sturdy (like a ceramic jar). Packaging was horrible, and handled roughly (Either Distribution or USPS). So it did arrive broken. Have no hope for a refund so I will mend it with some gorilla glue or JB Weld. So since it was broken upon arrival I can't really rate comfort.

Decent quality. Fast shipping. Only just A little uncomfortable.

The quality is outstanding, detail is very good. On the downside, the mask is rigid. It does not allow any space for my nose. Even with the straps adjusted all the way out, it squashed my nose flat and I could only wear it long enough to take a picture wearing it. Also, the sides of the mask flare outward distorting it's appearance when you wear it. Beware, the resin does not give, as I found out. But now the side flaring problem is solved. Otherwise, it's a great show piece, a wee bit on the heavy side to wear for a long time.

This must be sized to fit a midgets face. Most children and adults are out - nose piece cuts Into the bridge of your face. Not really wearable but looks cool. - shipping took a long long time.

Quality wise is decent I just need padding around the nose and forehead and chin. It need padding just to wear

Very high quality material;however the fit was wide, so all pressure was on my nose and it ended up swelling quite bad even without wearing it continuously. I would just recommend getting padding to add to the nose part. Otherwise, it was fantastic and such high quality! Looked so good!

Very good quality replica! But it isn't comfortable on the nose at all. I put mole skin on the inside of the nose part which helped. It is a restraint mask and the one in the movie looked much more uncomfortable so thankfully it's not as true to the original as it could have been. If you loosen the top strap it's not too bad.

If you did what Lecter did, this is the accurate punishment. What's more important to you? A somewhat accurate replica or a mask that's comfortable to wear? I say if you want to be comfortable pretending to be Lecter, you're an easy target for a real Lecter.
