Crucial Text for Master Tung Acupuncture!
Being the definitive point location text for Master Tung Acupuncture, which happens also to be in English... the sheer monumental value encompassed (and deftly organized) herein cannot be overstated... clearly laid- out in a schematic system of zones, the authors have created the unwavering model for all subsequent acupuncture texts...wherein they painstakingly provide magnificently concise illustrations showing anatomical point locations in each zone. Each numbered point is also succinctly anatomically described, and specific indications clearly listed, in a box below each illustration. these illustrations are drawn to scale with calibrated measurements for accuracy, and TCM point locations included for reference. All this detail delivered w/ ease and clarity, otherwize it would be a complete nightmare, given there's roughly twice as many points in Tung's system, than in TCM, and the points aren't necessarily on the primary meridians, since the collaterals are often utilized, etc. there are great introduction chapters to bring readers up to speed with Tung needling techniques, his unique methods for diagnosis and treatment principals. The end of each chapter offers extensive footnotes concerning how to use the points clinically, drawing from many other authors, some of whom studied with Master Tung in Taipai, such as Miriam lee, the very first licensed acupuncturist in California. Simply stated, a crucial text to own if you want to learn this amazing system.

The FIRST Book You Should Buy For Tung Study!!!
I would easily offer 6 stars, if it were possible. This is the most extensive book out there on Master Tung's technique, hands down! This is such a thorough resource for distal acupuncture, in general. It covers, in EXTREME DEPTH, point location and point indications, imaging correspondence/microsystem logic, channel correspondence, tissue correspondence, associated Zang Fu dynamic, needling technique, and special considerations for each point or dao ma group. There are also some fantastically organized indexes, to look up points or combination based on symptoms, syndromes or patterns. I've never seen so much diverse information and visual aid for this subject all in one place. Well done, Dr. Henry McCann...thou art the man!

Fantastic
I am a seasoned acupuncturist who decided to change to Tung's practice. This is by far the best book I have come across. The pictures, description of the location of the points and point combinations are excellent. So glad, I don't have to reinvent the wheel by putting information together by myself!

Best Tung book so far
I have been making liberal use of Tung acupuncture in my own practice, and i have a number of books on the subject. So far, this is the best one. It is well laid out, in a very logical manner, clearly articulating much of the theory, and with a decent guide to Tung point locations. If you have not yet taken a class on Tung style acupuncture, you still should be able to get a lot from this book. IF you have taken some classes on it, this is a great purchase.

I would highly recommend this book if you buy Brad Whisnant's books because not all, most all, of his books don't get into the point location that well and do not get into the points themselves. Brads back pain distally does have diagrams of points, but it does not get into the points. And that's fine, but I just think you should definitely get this book to get a deeper understanding of the points. Would highly recommend Brad's books as well.

I have Chu's Tung for Internal Medicine and Whisnant's Tung books but so far this book is the one that gives most detailed Tung point combinations and channel correspondences.
