Aqua Gloss 4oz, ALC600

Before I found out Alclad made a Gloss Black Base (ALC305), I bought two bottles of this to use as a topcoat for my projects and I will say it works very well, great coverage too. You can use it as a primer also, but for that super glossy finish, you will need to do 3-4 layers of this. Sprays PERFECTLY out of the airbrush, with no thinning whatsoever! That is important for painting models. I use 25 psi in my airbrush because of its forgiving nature... you will KNOW if your coats are too heavy (the surface will start to get cloudy at first) but it is very forgiving to work with and the coat is IRON HARD. And this comes in a 4oz bottle. PROS: -- Easy to spray -- Great coverage and it dries in 10-20 minutes (I give it a full day if I use 4 layers of this) -- Price is fair for its size. -- VERY IMPORTANT. Cleans easily with water out of the airbrush CONS: -- Odor, but it's a water-based lacquer.

I used this to go over copper and chrome and it worked great! no noticable dulling to the metalic paint.

Does what it says. Doesn’t dull the chrome/reflective effect much at all, seals in the chrome top coat so it won’t rub off. Finish still passes the finger test for mirror. It’s not metal, but for plastic sanded and painted, it’s incredibly smooth. Apply a couple coats, about 4-6 inches away. It is tough to make this sag or run but be mindful while you are laying down the second coat that really gives you that glossy look.

This product does as advertised, and provides a good layer of protection for previously applied paint. The lacquer did the dull the reflective nature of the first coat a bit, but not terribly.

I was worried when it arrived with a white lid as I haven't seen that before in an Aclad 2 Aqua Gloss product, but after checking with them (alclad.com) they replied that they are now using white lids for the Aqua Gloss bottles. This stuff blows future floor polish out of the water, buy it.

This stuff is awesome for painting a chrome like finish

I bought this as part of the alclad II chrome system. I would also like to dip clear parts in it as I know others have, but it simply is too small an amount to waste for dipping. I bought future for that instead. Read bottle before use and do not shake or allow it too dry in airbrush.

Easy to airbrush, no thinning required.
