My VW key fob supplied with the car lasted just three years before the ‘key’ part fractured. Main dealer replacements are three figures! This fob was close to being identical. All components of the outer cover were the same, joint lines, graphics and the red led position were the same. My aim was to simply use this fob as a case complete with a new key arm. It’s possible that the original key arm could be transferred with some slight engineering but I opted to get the new arm key cut.. There are videos online to guide you, especially about breaking into the old fob safely without damaging the circuit board - check the advice fits the description of your fob. Once you’ve levered the new fob open, swapping over the circuit board and fitting the battery was straightforward with care (try not to lose the spring!) and all worked well when snapped shut. This fob is nicely made and has an original feel, with good operating action and graphics. I could have had this fob reprogrammed possibly - but others have reported problems. Changing over the electrics was well worth it and the key cut was a fiver!

The key lasted less than 6 months before it started falling apart. Key end fell out and buttons developing holes. Very poor quality.

Brilliant, saved myself a lot of money.This key fob is almost identical to the VW Polo one (2013 model). The key had snapped at the base on the original fob. So I exchanged the key and printed circuit from the old fob to the new one. Please see the video on YouTube to see how top open the fob up to exchange the parts. Be brave and do exactly how they show you, as you have to use a bit of force to dismantle them as VW don’t make it easy to do this. The printed circuit swop is easy but the key will have to be filed at the base to fit in the slot of the new fob. Good luck 👍🏻

I bought this because the key blade had broken off on my 2014 Seat Ibiza original keys. I just used the case from this new one and replaced the internal circuit board and key blade with my original ones. The YouTube video "VW Skoda Seat Broken Key HOW TO Fix Snapped Blade" by The Car Key Man is helpful. You'll get the idea of how to change the blade over (it was a perfect fit) and how get your old one apart without damaging the circuit board. I got this new one apart after undoing the little screw in the circular badge recess and then gently prising with a butter knife blade at the side. Great result for about a tenner so now just buying another to fix the other broken key. Doing it this way, I didn't need the key cut or programmed so I can't comment on whether the circuitry would work for my car.

A really well made, solid product. I easily replaced the internals with my original broken VW Polo key fob and Bobs your uncle !!

I bought this to put the circuit and blade from my old key into the new fob. Unfortunately I can't do this as it's arrived preassembled with the pin in. Don't understand the logic of the seller providing it like this at all!

Works well after putting the old gut in this new shell. The silicon seal is not as perfect as the original one, though.

It works on volkswagen polo perfectly.. it took a lot of time to be programmed but it works fine now.
