A Healthier Neck - and Added Force Production in My Training
Excellent product. I had tweaked my neck on heavy cable rows a few years ago, leaving a lingering injury for months. After using the 6DS - this most recent purchase is my third one or so - it really seems to keep my neck centered, neutral, and stable, so I can exert myself without worry. My neck since healing might not be the 6DS's doing, but I haven't tweaked it since employing the 6DS. With my current order, I had an issue with the case, and their customer service responded to my email in literal minutes, providing a resolution to my concern. It's great to see such exceptional customer service and to see the company stand firmly behind their product. The only caveat I'll offer is some of the cases might not lock securely, so until they've upgraded the cases, getting a cheap retainer case here on Amazon for a few bucks is worth considering, or test out your case before going to the gym, and if the closure seems weak, perhaps put a rubber band on it. That said, I still wholeheartedly recommend the 6DS, as it's helped maintain the health of my neck when exerting myself close to failure on my heavier sets, and it does seem to allow that little bit of extra force production, which - when compounded over years of training, only adds to my progress in the gym.

Protects my teeth, claimed of increased strength are dubious
I got these because I was looking for a mouth guard that didn't get in the way. Most sports mouth guard require a closed jaw, forcing me to breath through my nose or awkwardly breath through my mouth. These were supposed to leave the mouth open to breath freely. First thing first: There were a lot of reviews on here about how the fitting process destroys the mouthpiece or otherwise makes it a mess. THIS IS NOT TRUE. Those posters have mentioned that boiling it melts it. This is true, but you are NOT SUPPOSED TO BOIL IT. You boil water, then transfer the water in to a glass bowl, *then* place though mouthpiece in the water. I followed the instructions and everything was done perfectly, easily, and on the first try. Moving on to practicality, the mouthpiece took a little getting used to, but not much. By my third day lifting with it I was adjusted to having it in my mouth. It makes it hard to swallow, but since my teeth are separated I can breath very freely. It fits well, and it's uncomfortable. I got this to protect my teeth since I clench during heavy lifts and was concerned about cracking something. The mouthpiece accomplishes this perfectly. I can bite down as hard as I'm inclined to without pain or fear of dental damage. One less thing to worry about when working out. As far as the claim that it helps you lift stronger, I haven't noticed any difference. Not even a few pounds. I've been lifting for year, and maybe a beginner would notice a difference? But since it's marketed to heavy lifters I would say the claim, in my experience, is untrue. I've seen several people on lifting forums stating it made no difference for them either, but there are a handful who say they thought it worked a little. Take it as you will, but don't expect anything magic.

A must for lifting
I bite down a lot when lifting heavy and I nearly chipped my teeth doing deadlifts. You only get one set of teeth and knowing that Brian Shaw uses this mouth piece I knew it was a winner. I read some other reviews that were negative saying how the mouth piece was melted and ruined when they boiled it in the water, well those people are dumb the instructions don't tell you to do that, so follow the instructions first step, there is an instructional video showing and explaining how to fit the mouth piece you get. It's very straight forward and simple. I followed the directions amazingly and guess what it fit perfectly first try. Now the piece does look a bit different but that is normal you can see it changes a little in the video as well don't be alarmed that's perfectly fine. I used my piece right after I had fit it to my teeth. I must say it was great to use that gym day, it made me focus more on my workouts and not on my bite downs to worry about my teeth. I had a better bench press that day! I use it all the time now, whenever I do a weight increase I wear it as I'm a biter and I need my teeth to not grind down. Having this makes me more confident at the gym. There are a lot of nice colors, blue was out of stock when I ordered it so they gave me an estimate of when I would receive it and I was updated when that changed to a sooner date which was great. They kept in great communications and you get a mouth guard case with the mouth piece and a clip, which I use. I clip it to my pocket and keep it at my side for a fast grab. I highly recommend this if you bite down hard and grind your teeth at the gym. This will take the stress away in your mouth and it will help with your focus.

Pleasantly surprised
So I have been lifting for a few years. BY NO MEANS AM I A PRO but I needed something to help protect my teeth. I did a little research and found this mouthpiece. I have used it twice now after going through the fitting process. I LOVE THIS THING! Pros: protects my teeth Helps me focus on my lift and not on how I’m clenching my teeth so I feel stronger and have a better mind muscle connection. It’s small enough that you can somewhat speak with it in your mouth. (It’s a chunk of rubber in your mouth it’s not going to be 100% comfortable) but it is comfortable for its size. I LOVE THE FACT YOU CAN BOIL THIS THING AND IT FORMS TO YOUR TEETH! (Instructions are boil water, DONOT BOIL THE MOUTHPIECE!! Pour boiling water into a bowl, place mouthpiece in the bowl for 35 seconds and pull it out with a fork or spoon and pop it in your mouth and bite down for about 20 seconds. (Don’t worry it’s not really hot) And boom you ready to go. Cons: the only con I have noticed is that they recommended replacing after 60 days or 80 hours of lifting. If you can afford 40 bucks every two months then no biggy. But if you workout for two hours a day then that’s 50 cents per gym sesh. Kinda expensive… It’s up to you either your teeth or a insurance policy. HAPPY LIFTING!

I swear by these man IF YOU’RE A CLENCHER ITS A MUST GAVE
I swear by this product. I saw noticeable difference in my power output and breathing. You can literally pant while clenching. If you’re a clencher like me and bite down really hard while lifting this is for you. No only am I confident in clenching but I feel naked without it. I ALWAYS use this mouth piece on my heavy lifting days. I also use this mouth guard when practicing BJJ and Muay Thai. It’s like a binky a baby won’t drop. It does wear out in about 6-12months of constant use and starts to become uncomfortable but I’m so use to it it doesn’t even phase me. I’ve been using this specific mouth guard since October of 2020 and I won’t ever stop using it. I’m not superstitious when it comes to these things and I like to have proven reliability in their claims. You’re not gonna see like 20lbs increases in your lifts but I noticed a minimum of 5-10lbs easy on my land lifts just be using it no joke. I notice that I don’t fatigue my upper neck and traps from clenching as much either because I’m able to bite down on the guard. Idk my ONLY complaint is I wish it was more comfortable and that it doesn’t start to wear about the first 6 months, however I use VERY frequently roughly 4x a week for 1-2 hour sessions.

Information they failed to advertise
I just got my mouth piece and opened the package, so I'm going to do an initial review. I'm giving it 3-stars simply for the fact, nowhere in the description, or in the page for initial searching does it mention anything about needing to be replaced every 3-months or 80-hours. For some, this may not be an issue, for others it might. I felt like this is pertinent information to know up front, especially for someone who lifts heavy 5-6 days a week. Take a look at the picture I provided and I challenge you to find that information on the page without having to ask questions or search reviews. Then, go into the search bar and type the word "hours." You'll see Amazon says "The product description states this mouthpiece is designed for heavy lifting and stabilizing the jaw. Based on reviews, customers have mixed opinions on the durability, with some reporting it only lasts a few months while others are satisfied." Why isn't that in the description. I'll be back in the future to review its actual performance but I likely wouldn't have purchased this if I knew the expected replacement is 80-hours or 3-months.

Don't use the case provided with the mouthpiece
Can't speak the the effectiveness of the mouthpiece. Molded it which went ok, took it to the gym the next day and it seemed to work ok (definitely not performance enhancing). Put it back in the case that comes with the mouthpiece when I was walking back to my truck unaware that the case was defective won't stay closed. It has fallen into the ether (searched everywhere including returning to the gym to search the parking lot). Over $40.00 for 1 use. I think it's overpriced to begin with and something cheaper and less invasive would be a better option (unless your into triggering your gag reflex everytime you put it in your mouth) but if your like to gamble, whatever you do don't use the case that comes with it!

Makes a difference
I wasn't used to train with a mouthpiece but it makes such a difference on the weights I can push. I just love training with a mouthpiece now, it really does help with better core engagement.
