SHIMANO Bait Reel 17 Scorpion BFS XG Right Handle

It casts 1/8 oz. baits easy. Paired to a medium light rod. I have caught 6 lb. spotted bass , 7 lb large mouth and even a 15 lb. Stripe no issues other than the drag is only 8 lbs. That drag makes for a long fight in any current or fish over 3 lbs. But it was exciting.

Always wanted to get into BFS reels so knowing Shimano's quality I purchased this Scorpion BFS. Ordered from Amazon on a Sunday and it came from Japan by FedEx and was on my door step in Missouri that Wednesday morning! Have thrown mostly 1/8 oz. jig heads but I was also successful with a 1/16oz. Great quality BFS reel at a great price. Get one!

excellent reel for lighter baits with plenty of cranking power, extremely smooth mechanics, extremely long casts (110ft avg. ) using a high quality 7’-2” med. fast rod. GOOD BYE spinning rigs for me. and the size 70 is light compact and comfortable for all day finesse fishing.

I purchased this reel over the winter and it was outside of the return window before I got a chance to really use it. I have several Shimano reels and love them, but this one not so much. It has a loud whine when retrieving and you can feel the gears in the handle. For $300 I expected this real to be as smooth as my curado 70. I disassembled, cleaned, and oiled/greased hoping maybe it was a lubrication issue to no avail. It’s very disappointing to have such an expensive reel that feels like garbage.

For the price, one of the best BFS reels around! No problem tossing 1/16th oz lures on 4lb line. Strong magnetic brakes with a lot of adjustability, smooth drag, and excellent line management.

Can't go wrong with Shimano, happy with this purchase.

Ich habe lange nach einer bezahlbaren Baitcastrolle gesucht, mit der ich als Linkshänder (also Kurbel auf der rechten Seite) auch Köder unter 5g einigermaßen weit werfen kann und bin hier endlich fündig geworden :-)Da die Rolle in Deutschland so nicht erhältlich ist, habe ich sie bei Japan Evolution bestellt und sie ist nach ca. zwei Wochen weit vor dem angegebenen Liefertermin angekommen, vielen Dank dafür!

ベイトフィネスをやってみたい！という右利きの初心者さんはまず左ハンドルを買うべきです。普段（巻きなど）は右ハンドルでもフィネスは逆の方がいい。ネコリグとかをちょんちょんするなら竿を右手で持った方がしやすいからね。5g程度のものも一応投げることは可能ですが全然飛びません。10m程度でしょうか。ほんとに中級者以上が限定的なシチュエーションで使うのがベイトフィネスみたいなので、私のような初心者が何となくベイトフィネスに手を出すと「スピニングでよくね…？」となります。必要性をネットで調べてよく考えてから購入しましょう。

ライトルアー用に購入。PE0.6を巻いて使用してますが、飛距離も十分出てとても満足してます。
