NO MORE SQUIRRELS - HEAVEN!!
I cannot afford to feed the whole neighborhood of squirrels and chipmunks!! Even with a baffle over top of a feeder, they are relentless!! At last a feeder they cannot deal with. I highly recommend this feeder. My squirrels and chipmunks gave up right away. It does hold more than I need, but I usually only fill it half full. You will not be disappointed!! Be sure to give the birds some time to understand this feeder. It took about 2 weeks for my birds to start coming. Once one started they all caught on quickly. Be patient.

It is Squirel Proof because of where I hang it.
Works so well for the squirrels because I hang it and they can't get to it. However the deer can and manage to knock a lot of seed out of it. I haven't had a chance to see if I can switch something so they can't knock it very well. Our area is loaded with deer now that they have clear-cut the deer habitat to build homes.

Good birdfeeder
Good birdfeeder not squirrel proof but slows them down considerably...they will jump on the roof and hang down without tripping the perch...this is our second purchase because these birdfeeders are definitely not bear proof

This is the feeder to get for larger birds (cardinals, robins, etc)
We maintain 8 different bird feeders right near our kitchen door (so we can look outside while seated at the kitchen table). Many feeders now-a-days, are geared towards the very small birds. That's a shame really, because we often watch cardinals, blue jays, robins, and doves just sitting around on the grass, waiting for scraps of seed to fall from the feeders while the smaller birds are feasting. Those birds are just too large to fit and balance on those small perches that most regular bird feeders have.I ordered this particular Perky-Pet 339-1SR Squirrel-Be-Gone II Home Style Bird Feeder and when it arrived, I was quite surprised at how large it really is - which is not a negative (don't get me wrong here). It is absolutely solidly constructed (it's not cheap feeling at all). Now do be advised that once you fill this feeder to the top, it becomes quite heavy (the total weight being around 8-12 lbs depending on the bird food used. So make sure you have a sturdy scenario available to hang this baby on.Another nice feature on this bird feeder is the fact that you can adjust the lever pressure by the feeding area (4 slots/settings) so that you can adjust the weight needed for it to close off the feeding area (i.e. weight of the squirrels). They have it set to the strongest setting by default, so you will need to observe what's using the feeder to make sure no birds are causing the level to shut off the food. Most squirels should cause the lever to push down and shut off the food cavities. But just in case the squirrels don't close the lever, you can adjust the weight needed by bringing it up a notch or two.Now do keep in mind that it may take up to a week before other birds (especially the large birds as mentioned above), discover and become comfortable using this Perky Pet feeder. You have to remember that they've been used to seeing the other slender bird feeders hanging out there for a long time, so like anything else, it takes time. I was frustrated at first when I observed that for the first few days, no birds flocked to the Perky Pet Feeder at all - but then, after a small period of time, the "word" was getting out among the bird community. So yes, I heartily recommend this bird feeder. It's easy to fill and lock and it should last a long time - only time will tell.

Perky pet bird feeder
I had one of these to begin with but the price was crazy in the store for another one. Checked Amazon and it was 10-20 dollars less for the exact same thing. Love it!

its not exactly squirrel proof
My squirrels must be the smartess in the country--they first figured out how to get the roof off twice---so I taped the roof back on and put tape around the red bird so they couldnt move it---next they took the handle off figuring that it was the real way to get in--well my birdfeeder is on a post so that didnt do any good--so I just took the handle in the garage----The latest has been that they pushed in the windows and even chewed part of one window that went over the lip of the window well---so then I put tape all over the windows but they tore every inch of it off and it was all on the ground---so now I have put the windows back in the proper position and taped around the edges inside the bird feeder so I can still tell how full it is---Now they are hanging upside down from the roof and figured out what closed the seed off so they grab some seed without touching the spring bar and they eat what they grab and then do it all over again---hanging upside down and getting seed and then go back on the roof and eat it--no birds can get seed while they are messing around but they dont stay that long but are back several times aday---so should I ask for my money back?--or just enjoy their antics----You just can't outsmart a squirrel period---

No Squirrels!
This is a great feeder - the birds love it! Hummingbirds are kind of confused about it - is it a big red flower? Is it really food? (not for you little guys) Why are all those other birds so happy with it? Chuckle....3 or 4 hummingbirds keep buzzing the feeder and not understanding at all......the squirrels gave up! Well, most of them did, the others will learn - lots of acrobatics but not one squirrel has feasted!

Big Quality issues
The unit came with two issues:1. The hanging wire was bent and would not stay in place. It uses two holes on one side to stay upright. Instead trying to fix this, I decided to mount it on a pole.2. This is when I realized that the unit wasn’t fully assembled. The ledge that is supposed to be spring loaded was at the bottom of the box with 3 screws, 2 plastic hinge pins and a torsion spring. Took me about half an hour to figure out how to mount the spring (no manual). Once I tried to install it, I realized that the mounting holes were about 1/2” off and that is probably why the unit wasn’t assembled. Someone welded it wrong, could not put it together, then just dumped the parts in the box, hoping the problem will resolve itself. I bent some parts a bit and put it on (barely) but little chance it will last. Very disappointed, because otherwise it looked pretty sturdy.

Bang for your buck
We are totally impressed with this feeders quality, capacity and appearance. It provides a lack of ability for party crashing squirrels. All types of birds are flocking in, they're relaxed and don't rush off due to threats or intimidation. Worth every cent :)

Solid Construction
I'm very impressed with the construction of this feeder. Solid. Metal. It's not flimsy. Adjustable if you want to deter certain birds. Can be mounted on a pole or hung. It's all metal. Seems to be well-designed. I can't wait to test it out. Beautiful quality metal feeder with a substantial capacity. It looks like it will be easy to clean and hopefully squirrel proof.

Great squirrel proof bird feeder
This is the first squirrel proof bird feeder we can recommend. We have purchased lots of others saying they were squirrel proof but our squirrels managed to shake / bite and thus get to the bird seed. I saw this online in USA and was most happy to see we could buy the exact same type in the UK.We have watched the squirrels try all sorts of ways to get the seeds - biting - swinging upside down - going different ways to no avail. They are still trying and top marks for their tenacity. We have separated (by the use of cardboard) the inside of middle section and so have put in sunflower seeds, peanut bits and worms. It took a couple of weeks for the birds to adjust to this new feeder. Now we see tits & robins use the feeder. Less frequently we have seen the sparrows go to the middle section for the worms but mainly they gather the seeds from the ground. Though they go to the feeders in the front garden all through the day.Hopefully the sparrows will use this new feeder regularly.Highly recommend this bird feeder - looks great - bought the poles - good value.Recommend that the manufacturer divides the internal compartments into three so birds go to their preferred section.
