what a great find!
i hap a lot of water near my garage and on my driveway. Quotes for 2-3 thousand for french drain, but i worried about damaging roots on trees next to drive. Bought the vpump and it worked really well. Disharbed water just past high point , no clogs, driven by water. really fast. highly recommend.

IT WORKS...and SAVED my house from flooding
The media could not be loaded. Just last night we lost power for nearly 5 hours...so sump pumps would not work.I used this gem to siphon the water out of my sump pit and then discharge to our city sewer (street)...Luckily I had the discharge hose already connected, so when the storm hit, all I had to do was connect our garden hose and put the pump in our sump pit.THIS PUMP saved our bacon last night. For the record, last July 2017 we lost half our home to flood damage, so I am keenly aware of the implications of having sumps not work! This is light grade plastic, not metal, so be careful in handling, but it honestly worked! This puppy paid for itself with just this one use!!!I have attached a short video from about 1am that shows it working...after it had already cleared 10" of water from the pit. As an FYI it will suck water down to about 2" from the bottom, due to the design of the pump...which is actually 2" more than my actual sump pump.

Odd but available additional connections required
I had my doubts, but I'm pleasantly surprised. I tested my new purchase today, and I'm satisfied with its pumping capability given the price and design. It will move liquids and sediment with ease.I do have a few words of caution. The device was not designed primarily for use in the US. The primary language of the packaging is French, but it does have English also, so thatbis nothing more than a note. It comes with a detachable quick-connect fitting, but the roles are reversed for the typical setup. The detachable portion has the sleeve typically associated with the source end of the hose instead of the discharge end. Also the threading on the quick-connect doesn't match any American garden hoses. Thankfully, I already happened to have a quick-connect source end connector and a double female ended length of hose (both available at Home Depot). With these, the setup works pretty well. The discharge of the Venturi pump utilizes your choice of 1 1/2” or 1 1/4” pool vacuum hose.4 stars due to odd but available connections required. I intended to upload pictures, but that feature isn't working for me.

A Venturi that Sucks $$ and time.
I purchased this item as a power outage backup device. When I needed to use it because my pump died, imagine to my surprise that neither of the connections use a standard fitting found in USA ! What a P.O.S !The picture implies that I could connect a garden hose. The unit has male threads that will not match with a male hose end or any NPT fitting. The connection appears to be 3/4" FNPT. I went to 3 plumbing stores looking for a 3/4 FNPT to GHT adapter. No one makes one. I couldn't even scab one together. Now the outfeed, grrrr. The outfeed is for a 1" soft tubing slip fitting that I just happened to have laying around - not ! Even cutting the end of my garden hose off won't fit the connection. It should have been designed for a garden hose fitting. Who doesn't have 1 or 2 garden hoses. Then I thought I could use PVC piping & add in a threaded fitting. Nope ! It's too small to fit a 1" female coupling with OD threads. It's too late to return it. I wish I could give it zero stars. I really want to put it in the middle of the street & slowly roll my truck over the top of it. The sound of the plastic crunching would provide immence personal satisfaction but alas, I don't want to clean up the mess afterwards.Maybe I'll just donate it to a thrift store so another person can waste a day trying to find fitting for it. BTW, did I mention that I think it's a POS design ? Save your money !

Flimsy plastic, get a metal one or electric pump instead.
Works. BUT, the plastic housing is flimsy and when my higher pressure water was flowing through it warped the high pressure water inlet and was having back spray. Thus it did drain the flooded area, but after the warping it was putting about 15% of the water back into the flooded area, slowing the draining ability. I would NOT purchase again and if you find one with a metal housing I would go with that instead. Ultimately this worked in a pinch, but if you have time just get a submersible electric sump pump, you'll be much happier with the performance.

Couldn't be happier!
I bought this to drain my kiddie pool I use for my ducks. Ducks get water dirty so fast, but it's hard to drain the new "big" pool. It's 5ft by 15" round. I can't tip it over, and the drain hole in the pool just sucked to my ground and the water wouldn't drain. Not to mention with how often I have to drain it, my ground can't continue to handle that, so it needed to go elsewhere. So the first time I fought with it. Now I have this! I couldn't be happier for $30 ( including the drain hose I bought). It made no noise so it didn't bother my ducks, It doesn't use electricity so I don't have to pull out an extension cord. It drained much faster than it took to fill it AND I realized over 1/2 way through draining that I didn't clamp down the drain hose super tight so some was spraying out at the connection, and it still drained like crazy. I used the water to water my garden and some grass. I'm amazed! I think it's nice to have on hand anyways, and during a storm/ blackout if there is an area that need to be drained I can use this and not have to wait for power since I'm out in the country I won't get it quickly.
