Great Value!
Ok, letโs be real. These are not Mitutoyo, Brown and Sharpe, or Starrett, but they are good micrometers! I purchased these for use in the field so I wouldnโt have to worry about them. I am obsessive about my instruments, treating my calipers and mics like a mother with her newborn baby. I needed something thatโs accurate, but possibly sacrificial. The micrometers came packaged in a good storage case, individually in sealed plastic bags with a desiccant each, but were kind of loose and were able to slide around some. Now we know that the carriers are not going to treat these like they were Faberge eggs, so Iโm assuming that there was some jostling. The 1 โ 2โ mic had some issues due to being able to slide around some. The thimble lock had been knocked way out of alignment and the only way I could unlock the mic was by removing the lever and re-aligning it, but it works fine now. The spines do not appear to have been damaged either. Also, that same mic had some debris in the thimble threads which may be related to the rough handling. Adjusting the thimble was very rough when turning to the zero (1.0000) graduation. Also, it was way out of calibration (about 10 thou) (see photos). I disassembled the mic, cleaned, lubed, reassembled, calibrated, and all is well now. It measures to within 0.0001 repeatedly. I know, some would say that it should work out of the box, but I like to tinker. I have a good mic now. The other micrometers work flawlessly, and repeatedly measure accurately to within 0.0001. The accompanying standards are also accurate. These were verified against know gauges. Pros: Price! Cons: Could have been packaged a little more securely for shipping. Update: 10/11/24 - I've been using these mics for almost 2 months, and they perform flawlessly. They are repeatable and are very accurate. I've even started using them in the shop over of the Mitutoyo's! These were a good investment! Updated from 4 stars to 5 stars

It is a good set and a great value!!
I have been using these for about 5 months and they continue to give me good accurate measurements every day in the shop. I have a cheaper set and I prefer these the case is also a big upgrade over my cheaper set. I have used these along with mitutoyo and starrett and get the same measurements. So for me I canโt justify buying a set that is 5 times as much these are a great deal and a great value! One of them was over tightened when I got the set but I was able to use the included tools and fix it and recheck the zero with the standards and it has been functioning well ever since.

Well made
Very well made of quality materials and workmanship, seem to be as accurate as other major brands in measuring tools. The friction thimble makes for repeated accurate measurements. Easy to use with easy to read graduations. I like how they come with calibration wrenches and a nice case. Would definitely but again

You get what you pay for
I'm a propeller technician by trade and am frequently using micrometers to measure parts for propellers. I am also an amateur machinist with aspirations of adding some more precision to my hobby. Micrometers are expensive though! So when I found this set of six for $150, I figured I'd check it out. Especially because I've used Accusize for dial calipers in the past and was very pleased. Is $150 for a set of six micrometers too good to be true? Not exactly. Let me explain. The micrometers themselves are comparable to other less expensive precision measurement equipment I've used. The 0-1" mic actually is very similar to one I have from Mac tools and I got within 0.0001" reading when comparing the two. I haven't had an opportunity to properly test the accuracy of the others, but they seem to read fine on my gauge blocks (which are not calibrated) and I'd be surprised if any of them fail accuracy within +/- 0.0001". What these lack that higher end, more expensive tools do not is consistency, especially in the ratchet mechanism. The purpose of the ratchet on the end is to give consistent pressure when taking a measurement for the purpose of repeatability. When going between each micrometer, the pressure at which the ratchet engages feels different to me. If you're a beginner just learning how to use these tools, this is something to keep in mind as staying consistent may be difficult until you get the feel for how much to tighten the mic on whatever you're measuring. The standards included work well enough. I used my gauge blocks to zero each micrometer and when I put the standard in to verify it was at zero each one was. However, I found it difficult to use the standards themselves to set zero on the micrometer. It's possible this would be easier to do with some kind of micrometer stand, to ensure the standard doesn't get crooked between the anvils. I don't personally see this as too much of an issue, once set to zero, the micrometers should be fine for a while depending on the work you do (we re-calibrate ours annually at work). The one serious complaint I have about this set is that the box is rather disappointing. It's made from a cheaper wood that doesn't seem very durable. There are some rough edges on the inside. I also had some difficult taking some of the larger micrometers in and out. The foam isn't glued down very well and can get in the way of the tools. For the price, none of the problems I've had with this set bothers me. While some of them would be unacceptable in a more expensive product, I keep reminding myself that I paid something like a fifth of what a higher end set would cost me. They function well and appear to be accurate. I'm willing to put up with a few quirks for the price. For my purposes I think they will work fine in my machining hobby and may be acceptable for measuring propeller parts (I'll update after I've spent some time with them). In short, if you're looking for an affordable set of micrometers for hobby work, this set is for you. If you're looking to tear down engines or propellers or do professional work with this set, they might do well for you, but you may also be better off getting a higher end set. You get what you pay for and in the case of these micrometers, you get a decent set of tools, with some acceptable standards, and a functional box to store it all.

Good value
This was a good way to get my first set at a reasonable price. They seem to be accurate compared to the included standards and the standards are accurate according to a borrowed mic. Smooth, clean, good quality. Ratcheting tightener, lock. The vernier scale for tenths is a little bit hard to read because 0 and 9 seem to overlap. That's my only complaint.

Inexpensive Quality
The micrometers all came sealed in bags with silica in a large plastic case with firm foam insert cutout and softer top and bottom. After I cleaned and zeroed them using the provided standards I confirmed they're measuring accurately to a set of gauge blocks with the exception of the 2" standard actually measuring 2.0002". I'm able to feel a little bit of resistance on the threads but time and oil will fix that. As I mentioned before they're measuring accurately down to the 0.0001 inch despite that. Ratchet works well too.

Inaccurate compared to the arp and snap on

Great set! Basically a Mitutoyo clone, and at a fraction of the price. But even with the lower price, these are well made. The thimble operates very smoothly, and the ratchet provides consistent solid engagement. The lock on the 2-3" set is a little tough to engage straight out of the box on the set that I received, but not impossible. Speaking of the box, I was impressed by the presentation: all three micrometers, 2 adjustment tools, and 2 gauges all packed in shape-cut foam in a hard plastic box with a solid set of snap locks. All in all, very well made for shipping and storage. When they arrived, they didn't measure 100% consistently. Part of this was probably due to the fact that they were sitting in the back of a freezing cold warehouse and truck for a few days. So the next day - after they'd warmed to room-temperature - I checked again and each set was still off by a few ten thousandths of an inch each time in their own way, but at least now each time the differential was consistent. A quick and easy adjustment with the provided tool, and they were bang-on down to a tenth every single time not just according to the provided gauges (which are very handy to have on the go) but actually according to our Mitutoyo gauge blocks that were just re-qualified a few weeks ago. All in all, an excellent set! Decent quality mechanically and physically, a good storage case, and consistently measures to 0.0001". Plus, the set is made in Canada, if you care about that sort of thing. All of that for under $100! You really can't go wrong buying this set.

Looks good and feels high quality. Came calibrated and after testing them they seem pretty accurate. I just wish it came with a 3-4" (Accusize if you see this feel free to send one my way haha)

A must have for engine rebuilders. This is a really nice set of micrometers.
