This is a great hood for the price. It looks and fits great. For the reviewers who complained about it not aligning right when you tighten it down, screw it down as far as you can with it lined up how you want it, then rotate the lock ring down against the lens to lock it in place. For those who’s lens caps won’t fit, my caps are Canon LC-58 and work great with the hood. My only complaint (and why this just got 4 stars) is that I cannot use a filter with this hood. It would be great if I could. All in all for the price it’s a great hood.

Perfect fit on my Canon EOS Rebel T3 from 2011 that I inherited from my mom. Fits in the little carry bag too, so I'm glad I don't have to invest in a new gear bag yet, since I'm just like her buying accessories for it now. Good deal!

I bought this Altura Photo tulip lens hood (2.283 in) to use with my Canon EOS Rebel T100, and it’s been a great little upgrade.It screws on securely to the lens, doesn’t feel loose at all, and stays in place even when I’m moving around a lot. Since using it, I’ve noticed fewer unwanted glares and lens flares when shooting outdoors or in strong light, and the images look a bit more contrasty and defined. The material feels sturdy but lightweight, so it doesn’t make the camera feel heavier. It’s also easy to put on and take off, and you can reverse it on the lens for storage, which is super convenient for saving space in your bag. Overall, for the price, it’s a very useful accessory to protect the lens and slightly improve image quality. I would definitely buy it again, If is necesary.

The hood does the job and is of average value for the price. It screws on well but a modest jarring will cause it to come off. In certain positions, shorter flare is visible in the FOV. My biggest disappointment is that the lens cap "almost" clicks into place, but it will pop out spontaneously. This suggests to me that a small tweak in the engineering process would have allowed for the hood and the cap to share space. I do have to wonder if the modular nature of the design sacrificed function for adaptability. That being said, for a budget minded novice like myself, this lens hood from Altura is sufficient for a beginner's needs.

Super durable and very easy to install

I can’t wait to start using this on my Canon RebelT7. I have tried it out for a few pictures, seems amazing so far, weather and work hasn’t been permitting me to use but look forward to getting out.
