The Best of Barbara Johnson

I just love this optimistic author. If you think your life is stressful, just read what this woman has lived through and all the while keeping her sense of humor. I had all her books at one time and ended up passing them along to friends who were reciprocating from surgeries. Easy uplifting reads. Now I have all her best reads in one volume. So happy to find this book and once again have Barbara in my home.

if you need a laugh to help pick you up, this is the book to get it from. Barbara Johnson writes about her life and sees the bright side of things and shows how God works each thing out to be better. This book is the best medicine for when you are down and need picked up. Laughter is the best medicine.

Enduring the death of two sons, the serious illiness of her husband, and the announcement by the third son that he was homosexual, Barbara Johnson managed to find a way to deal with everything and end up happy. In my opinion, she's earned the right to give advice, and she even makes you smile while she's doing it. Often, she says, you go through the stages of churning, burning, yearning, turning, and finally learning to live again, as you handle immense pain. I loved this book, and have bought copies for others. It's a must-read.

I bought this book for a friend who lost her daughter over two years ago. While the book is humorous in parts, it doesn't fail to deliver some heartfelt advice, encouragement, short stories and poems that are a great help to those who are grieving. Barbara Johnson pours her heart into these pages, and it is a great help to read about the experiences of someone who has walked your road up ahead of you. I like reading about Barbara's personal story and benefiting from the things that helped her to make sense of life again. The scriptures, short stories, and poems are perfectly fitting, and I found myself wanting to highlight many things in this book for future reference. Well written.

Barbara is the best

I bought Barbara Johnson's three-in-one book, The Best of Barbara Johnson,a thick heavy book, for one penny, and the shipping was only $3.99. I had it mailed to a friend several states away. It was in new-like condition, my friend said. It was only missing the dust jacket. An unbeatable bargain!

The book looks dirty and used. The paper cover is torn, and there are torn/ crushed pages. Very disappointed. I bought this for a gift and now am under a time crunch to return it and replace it.

Fabulous book for those who need encouragement. Funny interwoven with serious. Relatable stories. Not preachy.
