Great item, but had a problem...
I was so thrilled when this monitor arrived, and I LOVED it for several weeks. Finally, I could sleep comfortably, knowing the alarm would wake me if my baby was having any trouble breathing. She doesn't have any health issues, but I thought this was a great protector against SIDS (and I still do think that). I love the blinking lights so that if you do go to check your baby in the dark, you can see the light blinking as she breathes without turning on the nursery lights and waking her. However, you may have read other reviews that the monitor seems "inexpensively" constructed. Well, I didn't think much of that as long as it does its job, until the clip broke! Just a few weeks into owning it, I pulled her out of her crib to see the clip had cracked. The next time I tried to put it on, it cracked all the way through and wouldn't clip onto the diaper anymore. Really, $130 and the clip can't be better constructed? It must have been weak already and she rolled onto it and broke it. To make matters worse, when I contacted them to get it replaced (used per directions, and one would think this would be a fault in workmanship of the product) they said that a broken clip wasn't covered. So, $130 for a few weeks of use seems pretty poor performance to me. I'm looking at the Snuza instead as a replacement.

LOVE this Monitor!
I have been using the Respisense ditto monitor for almost a week, and I LOVE it!!!!!!!! My baby has GERD (reflux) and she has to sleep in a special incline sleeper that is not compatible with the other mattress-type movement/breathing monitors. This monitor clips directly onto her diaper so I can use it to monitor her when she sleeps just about anywhere. I was worried about false alarms waking her up, but this has not been a problem with this monitor. I have read that false alarms are a regular problem with the mattress-type monitors, because babies can roll off the monitors. This monitor stays in place on the diaper, snugly against her skin. I make sure her pajamas cover it, so she cannot pull it off. Although, she hasn't tried to pull it off yet because I don't think she knows it's there.I must also use a traditional GRACO audio monitor to listen for the alarm. The alarm is NOT loud enough for me to hear it without my audio monitor to amplify and transmit the alarm sound when I leave the room or go downstairs. My baby's GERD is severe enough to interfere with her breathing and even though I still check on her obsessively, this monitor is another tool that helps me monitor her and helps give me piece of mind. If your baby has GERD, apnea or if you are worried about SIDS, this monitor is a must have. It is worth the money. To me it is priceless!Dana

Junk
I used this with my first son & loved it. Now I've had it for a little over 2 months (have been using 7 weeks) & it has malfunctioned. Has gone off 15x in the last 3 hours which is awesome when sleep is a rarity with a newborn. Seller says to contact respisense. Their website doesn't look promising, but we'll see what happens with the warranty. I don't have much confidence.Update: I write this at 4:15am on a night a didn't have to be up since my baby was sleeping but of course a false alarm woke him up. I tried in vain to change his diaper & hope the unit would work again. Wrong. He made it through the diaper change but with how much I had to fuss with this piece of junk & it kept going off (seriously not registering his breathing AT ALL), he is now awake & screaming. Awesome. After contacting the seller (kazoom) who was so professional & helpful with their one word answers, I was told to contact respisense. Contact respisense, who was very quick to get back to me. They did a weak trouble shooting & then told me I had to go through amazon for the warranty since "amazon takes a portion of their profits". I email amazon who tells me this is a private seller & I need to go through them then opens up a claim on my behalf. My claim gets denied & I get referred back to the manufacturer who is obviously annoyed & says amazon is supposed to handle it but they will do it. Now I have to return it & then I guess I'll get a replacement. So meanwhile I'll have to go without one. Such a hassle & the runaround & a waste of money. I ordered a snuza from another website & will never buy from amazon again. And I'm not just blowing smoke. I have not purchased anything from them this holiday season & will not until I can buy with confidence. Hopefully I have better luck with the snuza & it gets here soon so we can sleep!
