Mounting screws are brittle
This plate does its job as expected. The only problem I encountered when installing it was that one of the mounting screws snapped off while being driven - despite having a pilot hole. Since the screw wasn't being driven "vigorously" at the time, nor at any odd angle, I have to assume that it was just brittle. Unfortunately, that could not be removed to allow use of a new screw, so the holding strength of the plate is reduced since it lacks one screw.

Double strike, not half the work
Double strike, half the work, one might think, but wait. The plate arrived in good order with all the screws. You have to chisel out a large area, but with a box cutter, a wood chisel, a hammer, and an 11 year hold holding the weather stripping out of the way this was an easy task that resulted in a clean opening. There are two types of screws - the longer ones are very long. I have side panel windows that I would have damaged with the original screws. I was only able to use the long screws on the lower two holes and had to use the shorter screws from the old strike on the upper holes. It turned out, though, that the door bolt and the dead bolt on my door are not at the same distance from the edge and that, while the deadbolt holds the door in place much tighter than before, the door was wiggling without the dead bolt in the lock position. I had to remove the strike and bend the metal piece that sticks inward towards the center of the hole. That made it work for now, and because the metal angle touches the bottom of the bolt hole in the door panel, it cannot move, so this should be relatively strong for many years. Still, you should check that you can actually use a double strike on your door before you order. The openings are at the same distance from the edge.

Center spacing is wider than the picture. It shows 3 screw holes tightly spaced. Pic is off.
Item has a wide 3+ inch spaced between lock openings. The photo shows screw holes tightly together, but they are wider apart. The picture is off abit.

Worked perfect
Lower part of the door frame where the door knob lock inserted was damaged this allowed to fix it without replacing the frame.

strong & secure
I bought one for front and back. Adds extra security to a wood door frame. Easy to install if you've got a drill/driver, those 3 1/2" screws are the only hard part of the installation. Take off the old strike plates and position the new plate, test the door carefully then put a front center screw to hold it. (the three front holes are for the small screws, 1 1/2") The long screws go in the back 6 holes and you should test the door as you go. Pre-drill these first, and you're done. I put one 3 1/2" screw in each hinge for the same reason, (replace one existing screw in each hinge into the door frame).

Open package, no screws
Product had been opened and taped shut. I expected to see 6 long screws and 3 short screws. Why did I expect 9 screws............reading the reviews it stated there was 9 screws. Unless we are showing reviews for something other then the item I purchased. Upon installation I had trouble getting it properly positioned. I finally determine the stop bar for each open was bent. The most likely happen during shipping due to the fact the product had been open and taped shut poorly! I had to bend/adjust the stop bars to get it positioned correctly.

Solid.
Put this on today. As you can see, it has quite a few holes for attachment. I like that. In my case, I didn't have to sink it into the door casing. There was plenty of room. I may do it in the future for aesthetics. I used 3.5" screws into the studs around the door frame. Much stronger than before. I just wanted extra there so the door wouldn't pop right open on the first kick. If someone is home, they have time to call 911 or take aim :)

9 screws of tough
The strike plate was a perfect fix for the door frame. The plate was shipped with nine 4 inch screws. I replaced them with 6 inch screws, because I wanted them to pass through the door frame and both 2x4 framing the door. The strike plate is very thick and well made. Even using an impact wrench the plate does not deform under the pressure. The landing lips are extra large and the lower bolt does not get stuck. The door closes with ease.
