Some of the pencils have more pigment than others
The pigment in the pencils being so unpredictable has left me having to press harder than is comfortable for me. Black and purple are great, others not so much.

best watercolour pencils
These are the best watercolour pencils I've used, even better than the Faber-Castell Albrecht Dürer which are quite good quality. They are just the right consistency to use easily and smoothly, and with the addition of water, the pigment dissolves easily without leaving any pencil lines or streaks. I thought they would be a good complement to traditional watercolour paint, but I find that I actually prefer using the pencils. Very highly recommended!
