Perfect Fit and Excellent Upgrade!
I recently upgraded my JK Jeep Wrangler with the Jeep JL OEM Hood Latches, and I couldn't be happier with the result. These latches fit perfectly on my JK, with no modifications needed, which was a huge relief. The build quality is outstanding, and they feel very sturdy—definitely a great upgrade from the stock latches. Not only do these latches give the Jeep a more modern, robust look, but they also feel much more secure. I noticed a big improvement in how tight the hood feels, and it gives me more confidence when driving on rough terrain.Overall, a fantastic upgrade that’s well worth the investment. If you're looking for a reliable, easy-to-install improvement for your JK Wrangler, I highly recommend the Jeep JL OEM Hood Latches!

Work great for JK! Drill all holes to 7/16 to get hood lines tight and clean looking.
These work great on my JK. Super stoked with them. No more floppy hood driving on interstate. They aren't difficult to install but if you want the hood lines to be tight and clean like the factory, you need to drill all the mounting holes out to about 7/16". Most recommend drilling to 3/8", one dude suggested drilling to 1/2" but I used a step bit from harbor freight and drilled em out to 7/16" and that worked perfectly on my JK. I used some red scotch brite to clean the holes, you could use a small round file too, and then touch up paint I already had to paint the drilled holes just to prevent unnecessary rust there. Then when you mount these you want the two pieces as far apart as you can get them when you tighten the bolts, so the hood catch is up as high as you can get it, and the fender mounted piece is as low as you can mount it, that will pull the hood down snug and give you an even clean factory line on your hood/fender.They function well but I have considered removing the spring from the latch inside because the latches do tend to sit inside the hood when you close it and it takes both hands to hold them out of the way. That is not a knock on this product itself, however, I believe that is simply just a design flaw. Still wayyyyy better than the factory JK rubber junk.

Definitely happy but with a few changes these would be a 5 star and I would have paid more happily.
I am really happy with the latches. Super easy to install. Took 15 minutes.I have a 2013 JKU Moab edition. I chose the no drill method that is an easy mod to the latches. Just use pliers to snap off the alignment tabs. It will work just fine without them.PROSCompletely eliminated my hood flutter.East to installLook greatCostCONS1. Alignment tabs - would be easy to offer a JK specific version since this is just plastic.2. Spring loaded metal clamp - make them close under the hood unless you hold both open at the same time. I might just remove the spring.3. Lack of washers - I reused the stock nuts since they had washers. The nylon locking nuts are nice but I didn't have the correct sized washers on hand.4. Slight increase in the hood gap. Not bad but after seeing other reviews I was looking for it.Before and after photos below.

Works for JKs
2017 Rubicon Recon JKU. I did not have to drill out any holes. I did need to bust the tabs. And I did release the springs because they were causing the latches to get in the way of closing the hood. Oh and I did not have to remove the grill. I used a 13 mm deep socket on a quarter inch drive. If this was made for a JK specifically I would give it four stars. But it wasn't. I took it out on the freeway and no hood chatter. So I am happy. The only problem I now have is the latches are very tight. I might need to do a little bit of grinding. But I would recommend this for JK Jeeps, especially if you have good chatter at high speeds.

Good looks and value but poor security performance.
Super easy to install. Like others have said, for installation on a JK, snap off the alignment tabs with some pliers and a gentle twist, they easily shear flush with the mounting base. The lip that sits in the groove of the fender keeps it aligned just fine. Took maybe 10 minutes to install with a small ratchet and a 10mm and 13mm socket. Look great and love the fact that they lock. I’ll smear some heavy grease on the spring and other metal parts to prevent rust. The body of the latch is plastic but matches the texture of the fenders well. All said it’s a good value for a little security.Update 1/15/19: these still look great and keep the hood tightly shut. I noted today when I came out from work that the drivers side was unlatched, despite being locked. The locking bar was snapped where it mounts to the tumbler. I assume somebody was monkeying with it while I was at work. So I gently tugged on the passenger side and the same happened. The bar snapped at the same location. For security purposes I’m changing my rating to a 1 star. I’ll likely keep them because they still look good and perform well as a good latch, and I got them during a sale, but I would not recommend them to anyone trying to secure their engine bay with compressors or expensive wiring distribution blocks and batteries. I’ll get a bolt hood lock for that and deal with seeing it through the grill.

Metal rusted in latch.
Functional this still work but all metal components have rusted and starting to fall apart. Bought these 5 years ago and no longer holding up.
