This was great
Having had PPD myself, I found this to be the best book on the market for "hearing" stories of other women like me. Most of the books out there are very clinical or a story of a single person. Because this provided a greater portrait of the women themselves, it provided the most healing for me. We need more books like this.

Honest, emotional accounts of the complex symptoms of PND. A must for any sufferer and professional
I really liked this book as I think when suffering from PND it is so helpful to read other mums stories of the illness and their recoveries to give other sufferers hope. It shows a good insight into the complex and different symptoms of PND and the women have been very inspirational and brave in sharing their stories. Only criticism is I would like some of the stories to give more detail of their symptoms but this is only because I was so interested in reading about them! This book has definitely helped me through my recovery. K Kitchen

Really disappointed by this book
Really disappointed by this book, it's simply a collection of stories of depression and what happened, no information on how women got better and what happened next. It offers no hope or guidance for sufferers of PND, simply stories of other women's depression. This may be useful for medics or research purposes but not for women suffering with PND sadly.

Invaluable, it should be dished out to all new mums
Unfortunately I came across this book after I'd eventually decided to ask for help. It was after the horse had bolted but I recognised myself in so many of the stories and so many things clicked into place for me after I read it. It's informative and strikes the right balance and helped me massively in retrospect.A lot of healthcare workers such as midwives and health visitors should be made to read this book, maybe then when I presented with at least half a dozen of the symptoms mentioned within it, they would have recognised that I needed their help, desperately.

excellent book
I loved this book. I am a Psychotherapist now working with postnatal depression. The interviews and analysis of the interviews give a wonderful insight into the experience of postnatal depression for both the sufferer and their partner. A very useful book that I would recommend to any professional and anyone suffering from postnatal depression. An area that needs more understanding and input professionally.
