Best book on the history and meaning of St. Patrick’s day—best book I have found on the holiday. I even learned new things as an adult. Read this book to my first grade students today and they loved it and had so many questions about it afterwards

Nice illustrations and story of saint Patrick's day.

This book contains a lot of information about the life of St. Patrick and St. Patrick's Day. I purchased it for use in my 2nd grade classroom in a public school. It wasn't as appropriate for this situation as I had hoped. Several pages of the book go into the religious aspect of St. Patrick's life. I found I had to skip over some sentences in order to be politely correct in my classroom. My students enjoyed the book, and we were able to create an anchor chart with the main details of the text. Gail Gibbons is a wonderful author and illustrator...so this is main reason I had purchased this book for use in my classroom without previously seeing the details.

All of her books are wonderful about the origin of holidays and how today's traditions come from those beginnings. Her other holiday books also do a great job in combining religious and secular traditions. I have bought all of her holiday books becuase they teach ME things I never knew about those holidays (and I'm Irish!). I have all her holiday books and as my kids get older, I will buy her books on other subjects if my children show interest in those areas. I really hope she writes a 4th of July book.

Oh this is just the cutest book to help you child learn more about St Patricks Day! The art is well done and I like that it covers the history and new traditions and the biblical meaning behind the clover. This has become a favorite book even weeks after the holiday! My son is 5 and loved it and had many questions it was super cute and really helped him learn visually about the holiday.

This was sent perfectly on time. I LOVE the how the story is written out. It is easy to read to younger children, yet engaging enough for middle elementary easily.
