🎉 Level Up Your PS2 Experience!
The PS2 Network Adapter SATA Upgrade Kit is a custom-designed solution that enhances your original Network Adapter by replacing the IDE connection with a SATA upgrade board. This allows for the use of SATA hard drives while maintaining network support, making it perfect for running Free Mcboot and programs like HD-Loader or OPL. Unlike other SATA adaptors, this kit ensures you can enjoy both network capabilities and expanded storage, all in one package.

Better than I expected
This SATA upgrade kit solved all my issues I had with an unreliable bitfunx SATA adapter I purchased from eBay a few years ago. My SSD drive now boots every time without any hassle. I have not owned this adapter for too long, so I have no clue how will it perform in the long run.

Speed and Compatibility - Best SATA Conversion board yet! TESTED
As a re-builder of PlayStation 2 systems I've used about every product that's been made. This board is by far and away ahead of the rest. I ordered two boards for testing and found them to exceed in quality and compatibility with the PlayStation 2 Expansion Bay.CON's -As noted by some the electronic parts used to build this board do have a bit of clearance issues. But with a bit of thermal or foam tape you can overcome this leaving a clean conversion without damaging any OEM parts in the process. (You can also sand down the white stand offs to lower the profile to get a perfect fit also). That is the biggest issue with this kit.Needs a instruction manual... Nothing fancy, but would be nice for Noobs, but isn't particularity hard to understand and would help the beginner.PRO's -It takes less than ten minutes to modernize your PS2. And what that brings to the system is SPEED! I've seen a 3 to 20 second improvement in the loading times vs. the GAME STAR.The adapter also uses the entire PS2 internal system to load and access the game files. This is evident in the HDD light clearly being seen flashing when active, where other boards lose this ability and with it stability of game play.My game of choice to test these boards is GANTZ - THE GAME (Japanese Release Only). Its tough on the US systems and this board crucified my tests. Scene skipping which on lesser boards freezes and crashes the system zooms through the HDD as it access the necessary game files without any problems.Unlike the GAME STAR this board allows for the NETWORK ability to remain and functional. (YES, people still use that to transfer games ISO's and play online. (Doesn't get better than that for RETRO-GAMERS.)I can't say enough about this product and its quality. While other boards use a few "modern" components they cause impedance issues with the PS2 Phat this board stays true to the PS2 internal electrical tolerances and as a result has seamless integration with that system.4.5 out of 5 stars - Just because the kit would be better with foam tape and not the white stand-offs. But that is knit-picking this kit is gold.TESTED ON SYSTEMS -SCPH-39001SCPH-51001TESTED ON OEM NETWORK ADAPTERS -BA-006 1-688-291-12 (version A)BA-006 1-688-291-12 (version B)

Works perfect ! Slow shipping..
Works perfectly but took what seems like forever in this day and age to arrive. Shipping label was printed the day after purchase but the package was dropped off two weeks later and in-transit time was only a day.No clearance issues if you have the proper tools. Power cable needs to be bent a bit to accommodate for the shorter distance to the board but doesn’t seem to be an issue.I’m using this with a 2.5” laptop drive in an Orico 2.5” to 3.5” drive adapter to save me the hassle of using a desktop to add games to my PS2. That along with a Sabrent SATA to USB 3.0 adapter makes it super easy to manage.

Never worked
It'd probably be great... If it ever worked. Bought this close to the time I needed to move, and it didn't initially work when I installed it. Finally got time months later to really look at it closer, and there simply just is not any way to get this thing working. It takes up too much space in the network adapter, and appears to short itself out constantly. I've tried using kapton tape or electrical tape over the nearby shielding, etc. to prevent that, but ultimately the device just isn't any good. On rare occasions it will detect my hard drive, but never any data on it, and the network functions literally haven't worked at all since I installed this device.I'm not stranger to working on/with small electronics, this literally just does not work at all.

Absolutely awesome,
Pair this with a large 2TB SSD and mcboot card you can literally copy your entire JRPG weeb ps2 collection to your machine and save wear and tear on your optical drive. Love the concept and easy to install for a generic run of the mill electronic idiot aspect. Not for blondes that need to be constantly reminded to breathe and exhale.

SATA HDD and Network Options Both Work!
Both directly connected HDD and network functions work properly. I have backups of my games saved on my Synology NAS and am able to successfully load and from there. I've also loaded games onto a SATA HDD (using Winhiip), which works great as well.Installation of the adapter is easy, but I would recommend watching a video for support.Shipping was about 2 weeks, which was better than I expected.Fully recommended product.

Does the job with a little know how
This does what it says it will. Converted my network adapter to accept the newer hard drives. It however did take a small modification to get it to work. The spacers provided that go behind the board to push it out far enough to actually attach the hard drive to the network adapter where too thick. When I installed it my 3.5" hard drive pushed the network adapter far enough away from the back of the PlayStation that adapter was not plugged into the PlayStation completely and it could not find the hard drive or the network capability of the adapter.I was able to use some sandpaper to make them the right thickness. When I reinstalled it everything worked just like it was supposed to.
