Its a wonderful product but 1 star goes off for packaging.....from the stamp on the product i could see it was packed in 2013...The outer box is shiny and beautiful but from all the unboxing video i saw on youtube, the shiny beautiful looking box had a magnetic bar that opens/closes the box.....and inside there are 3 movies in black cases. The same which is shown in the picture.....but the box i received didnt have a magnetic strip to ope/close the shiny box.....instead there is another box inside the outer sturdy shiny box....this has a simple paper flap covering the disc boxes and also the disc boxes are not black but regular blue colored bluray boxes.....much disappointed about the packaging but its the films and the extras that matter most.....i hope the seller displays the correct product going forward.

If you're a JRR Tolkien or a Peter Jackson admirer, you need to have this collection. Not to acquire this, I think would be an insult to all the people that have put forth the effort in the completion of this masterpiece of a cinema.INR4000 for 723 minutes of runtime and 15 discs is not even close to expensive. I say this in contrary to all the people shouting all over the internet that this collection is not worth it in terms of the monetary value.You get 6 BluRays and 9 DVDs.The Quality of the feature films are so high that each has 2 Blurays for itself, hence the 6 Blurays. 2 For Fellowship, 2 For Two Towers and 2 for Return of the King.The rest of the 9 Discs are 9 DVDs Comprising Bonus Materials and Extra Stuff. 9 DVDs!! I think you cant ask more from a studio to share any more of its production techniques.When you open it, You get three cases, each consisting of 5 Discs : 2 Blurays and 3 DVDs.So in India, any decent Bluray Disc, having a runtime around 120 mins costs about INR1000. This is for INR4000 having 6 Blurays and 9 DVDs and a runtime of 723 minutes. How is it expensive? You get the nice packing too!!I say this for all who have second thoughts about buying this, thinking about the price.To a JRR Tolkien or a Peter Jackson admirer, well, you know what to do.

This Sony released copy of "The Lord of the Rings" (Extended Edition) is must Buy for all this series Fanz. Definitely a Perfect Collector's edition. Don't buy Excel release because,its not worthy.All 15 discs (6 Blu-ray & 9 DVDs) gives a proper systematic look for this Pack. Got in very reasonable price,thanks to seller n Amazon for provided these kind of quality product in affordable price range.

Good product. Clearly, this trilogy has made more money than Harry Potter series. Both in print and movies.It's based on a book that revolutionized thought and literature in the 20th century.A classic. Must see before you die.

Excellent package for collector. Only complain, the plastic box is not so good quality. The hinges holding CD trays are already broken. Otherwise everything else is perfect.

This was for my daughter who is a book lover. She insisted to have this movie and I could only trust Amazon to have a genuine copy. The item was delivered in time and the picture quality and sound was great. Thanks from me and my daughter.

LOTR trilogy is a cinematic experience only made better by the beautiful 1080p video quality with DTS surround sound in this wonderfull blu ray bundle. If you really love LOTR and interested in how it all came to life on the big screen then it is perfect. It has hours and hours of extra footage showcasing the effort put to in to make something this extraordinary. A must by for collectors.

What this ad doesn't tell you is that the digital download code only offers a 4k download in the US. Sorry Canadians, but you're going to be stuck with standard definition. That's right, not even 1080p, just 480p for your digital download. And it seems that it can only be claimed through the Google Play Store. I enjoy having physical media, but I've also had discs fail after a few years, so having the digital download as a backup is a great feature. But not so much when its only in 480p! Seriously!? The ad also doesn't tell you that there is absolutely NO special features. I knew this before hand, but thought it would still be worth it because I also get the digital download. Of course that didn't work out quite so well. And people should be fully informed of what they're actually getting with this purchase. As far as I'm concerned, if you're in Canada, do not consider the digital download code as a selling point. If you care enough about a movie that you'll buy a 4k Blu Ray, then a 480p download is a completely useless to you. What you get in this set is the Theatrical and Extended versions of each movie, and that's it. To be fair, the movies look and sound great, but with no special features, and a useless digital download code, I just can't recommend it at it's current price of $115CAD. You can get both the theatrical and extended editions in 4k with Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos, in Apple TV/iTunes right now for $60CAD ($30 for theatrical trilogy & $30 for Extended trilogy).

It shall be an heirloom of my household. All those who follow in my bloodline shall be bound to its fate, for I shall risk no hurt to the set. It is precious to me, though I buy it with a great pain of $115 CAD.

When I buy a 4k version of a film that's what I expect to get. I don't want to have to go through asinine hoops where I have to register my code with "Movies Anywhere" or "VUDU" and if I didn't google what the hell VUDU was I wouldn't know that my 4k rights get removed until such time that VUDU gets a 4k version. Disgusting. So I go through and now I have to get iTunes through "Movies Anywhere" to download my film. Except right on the cling film it says, sorry you have to be in the states to download this film. Well I happen to have a US bank account and various other US dealings so okay, super annoying but fine. I go to make an iTunes account so I can download my movie that I paid for and nope, sorry you need to have A US address in order to get this film. You also need a US bank account or iTunes snaps you back to Canada and you lose all your progress filing in their obnoxious privacy agreement where you have to agree for them to use all your data a billion times because Apple. If I could pirate this, I would and donate the money to the people who made the film not this utter garbage.

Excelente presentación del producto. Llegó muy bien cuidado y sin daño. El anillo está bonito, aunque no es brillante. Eso si, se marcan las letras de la maldición y se sienten al tacto. La calidad de las películas es estupenda, lo único que en español latino solo están las versiones de cine. Las ediciones extendidas vienen en audio castellano. Ambas versiones trae el excelente inglés dolby atmos y subtítulos en español latino y otros idiomas.Trae el código digital solo para la plataforma Movies Anywhere exclusivo USA, la cual trae también las opciones de audio y subtítulos descritos respectivamente.Es caro el producto pero como fan acérrimo vale la pena.Lo recomiendo ampliamente.

Tenía las versiones extendidas de lujo en DVD y quise hacer un upgrade a Blu-ray pues cuando la volví a ver, me incomodaba mucho que no estuviera en Full HD, por lo que me decidí a comprar esta versiónNo es tan lujosa como las de DVD pero está mejor que una compilación sencilla. Incluye las películas extendidas en versión Blu-ray (6 discos), y los documentales que venían en la versión DVD (6 discos) los cuales son exactamente iguales, incluso en DVD a 720p. Además incluye 3 discos DVD adicionales con unos Behind the scenes. En conclusión: más contenido que las versiones extendidas originales y con el plus de que las películas ya son Full HD. Traen también los folletos con los índices de los extras tal como en la versión antigua (aunque en estos la calidad del papel es inferior)En conclusión: la presentación no está a la altura de la versión original DVD pero en contenidos está bastante mejor. Lo recomiendo
