Still have not tested if the defroster function works but the impedance of the leads is not open circuit like my defective mirror it is replacing so I'm assuming it is functional. I did discover that this new mirror noticeably does not have as wide a viewing angle as my original mirror. It is difficult to compare and display this issue without having the mirrors installed exactly alike but I did take a photo which slightly shows the difference in viewing angles. The Amazon mirror is on top of the photo and my original defective mirror is on the bottom. You can tell in the bottom mirror that you can see a bit more laterally compared to the Amazon mirror. With a true aspherical mirror you should see a bit of distortion laterally to the vertical dotted line of the mirror as you can see in the bottom mirror in the photo. I figure that the viewing angle of the Amazon mirror is narrower by a few degrees which is a bit disappointing as the whole point of an aspherical mirror is to see as much blind spot as possible. Honestly not sure if this mirror is just a standard flat mirror with a dotted line to mimic an aspherical mirror. A bit disappointed, as long as the defroster function works, I will just probably use this mirror in the winter when I often need a mirror defroster and just swap it out with my original ashperical mirror during the warmer months...

Since installing this mirror I don't think I'd be able to switch back to the old flat mirror style. I can see cars coming up my left side until they appear in my left drivers side window. Also as others have noted, the OEM mirror has a piece that is absent from this mirror. I installed this mirror without that piece and it works perfectly.

This fit my 2009 Jetta perfectly and was super easy to install. The mirror has the backing plate and heater so it was as easy as attaching two wires and snapping the mirror in place. The mirror seems to be better than factory as it is thicker and heavier.

It looks like a good quality, I asked if it would fit my 2016 Tiguan which I didn’t get an answer on so I took a chance but unfortunately it was not in my favor. 4 stars because that’s what I’m guessing I rate it had it fit my vehicle, but if anyone else is looking, it will not fit the Tiguan even a little.

Great product for the price. This clears up the rather large blindspot on my wagon. Easy enough to install after watching a couple of videos. This is OEM color glass so it matches the stock passenger side mirror color. This didn't include the metal piece that sticks out from the back of the mirror, but you can easily pull the stock one off of your original mirror and install it on this mirror... Great price and seems like a quality piece.

Mirror received and installed as explained in youtube video. Basically pop the backing plate out of the housing, remove wired and long standoff. Attach wires and long standoff to replacement mirror and snap in place.

I am glad I found this product rather buying the mirror with adhesive only. Due to the heated function, the adhesive will eventually fail. Wish there was better description so it can be easier to find. Also, wish there was better instructions on how to install - especially mine had a metal tab that needed to be remove from the old one and place on the new one. But overall - works and great price.

My mirror didnt come with the metal connector so now it just hangs there. It doesn’t click in at all. The piece in the picture is the piece i need. Other than that it was easy to install.
