This is my husband's 4th Hanna Patchwork Cap. When he bought his first cap, about 43 years ago, it wasn't hard to find the "Brights" and that cap, despite the Dry Cleaner breaking the bill in the last cleaning job, is still his favorite.Sullivan Drug, from whom I bought this one, sent a nice cap in some great colors. For some reason, Hanna itself has cut back on production of the Brights, which he likes because they have a combination of all kinds of bright colors.These caps wear like iron. As I just mentioned, my husband was wearing his 43 year old one today. He'll start wearing his new one tomorrow, he says! My suggestion would be to hand-wash these caps in Woolite. They say to dry clean them but I can't understand why the dry cleaner broke the bill on his original cap. He also wears his other two but we couldn't get them in Brights, as he prefers.I intend to call Hanna Hats and make sure it's all right to wash them the way I plan. They are great people. And so are the people at Sullivan Drug who sent his hat ahead of schedule. My thanks go out to them!

First of all you can tell this is a really well made cap. Nice fit and feel. I ordered the gray salt and pepper and when I put it on I loved it...until my wife said "you got a brown cap?" I told her it was gray. We went back and forth and the more I looked at it the more I did in fact see a lot of brown in it. You don't notice it much from afar (or in the stock photos) and many still see gray but every time I look I see the brown (see my photos). That was the only thing keeping it from 5 stars and truth be told it could like the viral dress color thing - some see one color and others another.

I bought this for my SO as he has been wearing the same hat for 13 years. The hat is beautiful and light and actually fit his big head. The problem is that he wears his hat year round and this one is wool - it would keep his head warm all winter but he'd be way too hot in the summer. Unfortunately, I'm returning it soley for that reason (I don't want to have paid $50 for a hat he won't wear because it's too hot) and keep looking for one that he'll actually wear. If I can find a non-wool, black Hanna Hat in this style, that very well may be the replacement.

This was a perfect replacement for my well worn previous one. It's exactly the same as the one that I bought almost 20 years ago (except for the price) and its quality is excellent. A great fall and winter cap in New England, even in snow and light rain -- warm and handsome. I even had a guy compliment me on its look during a subway commute to work. Not often that a Boston commuter throws a compliment your way on a crowded Red Line car. You'll like this one.

I just received this hat the other day and have to say I am impressed! This hat is obviously very high quality. I have a very hard time finding hats to fit my 77/8-8 head. I can rarely find a hat in my size during normal shopping. This one however was just a touch loose, which is perfect! I cant wait until this late summer heat wave goes away so I can wear it on evening strolls and to church services. I also am looking forward to being able to order a BLACK one in XXLarge. BTW, yes, I am Scots-Irish Dutch in my heritage so, I am a bit biased. Erin go braugh!

I am ABSOLUTELY THRILLED with this hat. I usually wear a US fitted Size 8 baseball cap with average/short hair This XXL hat fits perfectly.When I wear the cap it doesn't look like it was stretched over my head. It looks pretty damned natural.The craftsmanship is great. Strong seams. Nice lining. I looked all over for months and could not find a hat with the same fit and quality.If you have a big noggin like me and want a nice hat in this style, BUY IT!

This cap was a big disappointment as I was looking to purchase another made in Ireland Flat Cap. The cap arrive flat as a pancake. When I tried to pop it open it remained flat. I tried it on and it still stayed completely fat looking ridiculous. On examination it was clear that this cap was made with inferior workmanship. The seams were crooked. I returned this cap and instead bought a beauty made by Boyne Valley Knitwear.

My hat size falls right between medium and large. I have a large that is too small as well as a medium that's too large. Both are less expensive hats. I selected a medium in this hat and it fits perfectly. I can wear it for hours with no discomfort or wooly itch. Very Happy!The cut is a bit more generous giving the hat a shape that is more like a hat than a snug fitting baseball cap on my head. Maybe the Hanna people have a different philosophy of hat making. I like it . . .
