Large rat ate bait and got away
Very hopeful that this would be effective - recently several large rats got into the garage and ate a bunch of stuff. I baited this trap with Peanut Butter Cup candy leftover, and 24 hours later there was some chocolate smeared around the end of the trap but all the candy was gone, no trace of a dead rat. LED indicator on top indicates power is on and good (4 fresh Duracell "C" batteries, and AC adapter). I don't know how to test it other than trust the LED indicator. Upper assembly with power switch & battery holder doesn't latch securely into place or stay on well, I used duct tape to hold the top aligned with lower module and another strip to hold the battery compartment cover in place.

It works! Wear ur gloves, tho :)
Well, great! At first I was skeptical about this product even tho I spoke with others about it. And the cost is a wee-bit high for a mouse/rat trap. However I took the chance and bought ONE to test out. And ‘voila’! It worked the first time I plugged it in (overnight). This unit along with other deterrents (pellets & poison), actually did the job of eliminating those pesky vermin. The pellets & poison may be still working but, I got visual ‘proof’ that this unit does exactly what it is advertised to do - I even took a couple pics! Two at one shot, wow! I am totally satisfied with this product. Exterminators are expensive and landlords do nothing toward ‘their’ infestation problem and leave it the renter/buyer to deal with. I do plan on purchasing more of these ‘zapper traps’ in the future (when I move permanently). Great alternative to an exterminator!

Worked for the first catch... Not anymore.
The first day it caught a rat... Pretty happy... but after that... did not get any more. Not so sure it is working anymore.... After first catch... cleaned it. Manual states to clean it after catch... so that the smell does not keep them away. After first catch cleaned it and again put food (peanut butter)... But did not see any more catches. After a few days... cleaned it again and put more food... then I started noticing the green solid light (indicating a catch). I reset device by turning off and back on.... but then started noticing that the food I was putting... had been eaten... The device kept indicating a solid green light and food was being eaten...Basically the device worked for the first kill but.... That's it.I had noticed that rats were eating the peanut butter that I left and also the light was solid green (indicating a catch)... but No more catches.I believe the device must be defective now.

It looks like it works...
Looks like this works, but I don't think it does. I know we have mice in the basement, and all the traps have caught some, except this. It has looked like we got a mouse, but when I check, nothing. Waste of money!!! Our old Victory one, or the cheap spring loaded wooden traps work better than this. Look elsewhere.

DOES NOT WORK
Owned this junk for just short of a year and it never caught one mouse and used often. However, the seller did catch me for the purchase price.

Location!
Works great. I like that it can use a/c power or batteries. We didn’t catch any mice mice at first; location is the key. We moved it to a more secluded spot and started catching mice daily.

The rat shorted out the trap and got the bait.
I heard a clatter on the lanai, and my little dog was extremely agitated. I heard the rodent squealing. I didn't want to deal with a live rat. So I calmed my dog, and we both went back to sleep. When I woke, the trap was empty, and the indicator light not working. No rat. No bait. No trap. The trap shorted out

Does not work
Received the 12/3/18 and followed directions. We have not got anything and we placed in a high traffic area. Not very happy about this
