MapEasy's Guidemap to Barcelona Map – January 1, 2008

I have used "Mapeasy's Guide Maps for many years. The maps are easy to read, easy to fold and do not tear easily. The tourist information is noted on all maps and there is not a lot of unrelated information which makes reading a map difficult especially when walking.

Excately what I wanted I do not travel without my MapEasy when available. Map Easy, phones are nice but those shows you a lot in flash and you quickly understand the relationship of everything.Its a great planning guide so you can easily see the relationship of resturants to the sites and it helps plan the days

GREAT PRODUCT

I bought this map several years ago when planning our second trip to Barcelona.I think the Mapeasy Guidemaps are just fantastic. They are my favorite tourist maps and I fund them much easier than other tourist maps to follow and I just love the notations on them. All of our trips to Europe have been on cruises and we've bought these maps wherever they are available for port stops or cities we're staying in before or after a cruise. I've used the map for Barcelona, Rome, Florence and Venice and they are all great.

I just returned fm Barcelona and brought 5 guidebooks (Fodors See It Barcelona, Frommers 24 Great Walks in Barcelona, Frommers Barcelona day by day, and Time Out Barcelona, and MapEasy Barcelona) because none of them really filled the one-stop-shop I was looking for.I had high hopes for this product. It was supposed to do one thing really well, which was to tell me what was in each area I was already going to be in. But I also wanted it to be my single go-to map. Fail.Sure its a little bohemian in its hand-drawn fashion, and has pretty pictures of the sights, but the writing was very difficult to read and it was impossible to tell where the metro stops were on the map. Also, highlighters didnt work well, so markups were near impossible.It oddly had no information on Barcelonetta (waterfront), which I found surprising.The bottom line is that I found the maps in the other guidebooks and the freebie the hotel gives out much more useful. Save your money.My recommendation is that if you have only 3 or fewer days in BCN, get Frommers Barcelona Day by Day. I'm so thankful that one of my tour books came with a good map because this one was worthless. It doesn't show the metro stops and other points that would make navigating the city easier but rather it fills the map with images of buildings it thinks you should see. I really tried to use it but every time I just got more pissed off. We were in Barcelona for two weeks and I tried to use it again later in the trip after I was familiar with the city but it was no better. It would seem to have been designed by someone who doesn't use maps.
