Good solid tire chains
So these chains seem extremely durable and so far I'm very happy with the purchase. They're only easy to put on if you know what you're doing and you take the time to play with them at home long before your next trip on snowy/iced roads. DO NOT wait to put these on when you're already on your trip in the snow. Watch the video, read the instructions, and most importantly, be patient and take your time (at home when it's a nice warm day outside). And don't get in a hurry. The built in cams work great, but when you first have the chains on the tire, you'll need to get as much loose slack out of the chain as possible (this is where you'll need to put some muscle into it) before you tighten the cams. Some have reported that the cams don't tighten the chains enough. They will if you get as much of the loose slack as you can out of it. But if you're not physically strong enough to do that, have someone stronger do it, or you can always carry a few bungee cords with you or the spider tightener. That said, the cams themselves should do the job just fine on their own. Again, just get as much slack out as possible. When I first put them on, I was able to hook one link on the inside of the tire, and 2 on the outside. Once I played with it for about 15 mins, I was able to get 3 links of slack on the inner tire, and 4 links on the outside. (tired to get 4 on the inside, but couldn't). The chains were so tight, I could barely tighten the cams and that's what you want. Hope this helps.

Good Basic Tire Chains
Fits a P265 70R17 tire with a lot of room to spare. These chains are available with or without cams for tightening the chains. I purchased the style with cams. They are relatively easy to install, & the four cams work very well in tightening the chain. I found that after driving 20 feet or so, I could loosen the cams and then take up another link in the chains, and then retighten the cams. I did not buy the elastic tensioners, but I may do so in the future because even after tightening the chains as described above, the chains are still a little loose. Note that if you have close fitting fenders, then you may want to consider a different option. These are NOT Class S. However, on a typical full-size pickup with this size tire, that's not usually an issue. There is plenty of clearance on my F-150 4x4.

Fit my BFG All Terrain K02 285/70-17
Technically these QG2228CAM were supposed to be a size too small for my brand new BFG All Terrain K02 285/70-17s but based on the reviews of the recommended chains I took a chance on these hoping for a nice tight fit and they were perfect on my rear tires. Because of local regulations I had to put them on way before I got to the snow and ended up driving 45 miles with these and 40 of it was on clear asphalt road with no snow. Once in the snow and ice they were great, I had these on the rear and cables on the front. I kept it to about 15 mph and after about 30 miles I had to retighten one of the cams but other than that it was flawless. My new tires had a few little scuffed spots but nothing Iโm concerned about at all, and not really noticeable unless I look real close. Next year Iโll get a set of these for the front instead of the cables which were ok but I think these were better in the deep snow and ice.

Worked Perfectly!
*NOTE- these chains ARE NOT SAE-S (as instructed to be used in the 2015 F-150 Manual). I searched for hours on tire chains, and found a video from a northern stateโs Highway Patrol installing a chain that looked just like this (they didnโt say the brand or source). But what I liked, was the built in tension disks. Other chains required bungees and straps, this didnโt. I bought this for my F-150โs 265/70R17 tires. Itโs RWD, and after reading the manual and online sources, you only chain the tires that have drive. They arrived quickly, in a fabric bag. Installation is rather easy, even in the snow. But- I HIGHLY advise watching โhow-toโ videos. The tightening disks come with a โkeyโ to tighten. And they fit perfectly snug! The only problem is there were a few extra links free hanging. Hindsight- youโll want to cut the extra links off, otherwise they fly out and tap. We used yarn & carabiners to keep a fixed. We had no issues going up steep mountain roads in <4ยฐ temperatures with feet of snow and ice at Beech Mountain NC. After reading reviews of other products in this price range a lot of people were saying other chains were breaking or didnโt fit, rusted or didnโt have clearance. All I can say is do your research. Seriously. In icy conditions you, your families, and other lives are at stake so invest an hour and make sure youโre buying what fits your vehicle. With that, SO MANY products on Amazon that pop up when you type in your vehicle and/or tire size are wrong. Read the product number of the item being sold, then see if they have a chart in the photos and ensure it matches your tire. These will rust (steel+abrasion+road salt=rust), make sure to wash them and lightly oil them when done and store oiled. Pros- arrived quick, fit perfectly, easy to instal, provided great traction in some sketchy situations, worked great! Cons- sizing is not intuitive/listed by vendor (make it easier to verify), heavy! (30#), NOT SAE-S, if youโre not use to chains itโs a bumpy and loud ride lol.

Wow! What more can I say? I was hoping to get something strong enough to do the job but this goes well beyond my expectations. These chains are tough and I have absolutely no worries about breaking a link.and they go on like a charm! I live in the mountains and these are a life saver! I was so impressed, I ordered a non-cam set as well. The cams are good but I think I would rather just throw on a bungee or two. Did I mention I got them way ahead of time? Thoroughly impressed and satisfied! Addendum 1: The general complaint about QC2228 being slightly too long for regular Dodge Ram 1500s is ludicrous. All you need to do is skip a few links (actually, 3, for standard 65-70-17 tires) If you really want to, you can fasten the remaining links to the main chain with a bungee or just leave them hanging. If the brake lines are clear and you drive slowly, you will hardly even notice they are on! Addendum 2: Like I said, pretty steep inclines of ice, NO PROBLEM!

They are great for light trucks. I use them for pulling out my camper in mud/snow conditions and the work great. They are a good value tire chain with cam locks. As for ease of installation they are the same as any cam lock tire chain.

The chains fit well and performed very well in rough snow and ice conditions. They do rust the moment they get wet, which is obviously always the case as one uses them for snow and ice. Rust appeared hours after first usage.
