Vidda Pro Men's Hiking Trousers - Durable, Long Lasing, Wind & Water Resistant Trekking Pants with Utility Pockets

This was my 2nd purchase of Fjallraven pants and I now own 3 pair (likely more to follow). I copy/pasted some of this review from my 1st one for the Abisko Lite pants I also have. The fit is phenomenal, almost as if they were tailored for me personally. I am a landscape photographer and these pants are perfect for cooler weather hikes. They are similar functionally to the Abisko Lite pants, but thicker, perhaps more robust/warmer. I frequently kneel, crouch and sit while shooting and these are reinforced (articulated knees and inner cuffs) and flex in all of the right areas. I love the handy front of leg pockets that are just big enough to temporarily hold filters and misc items I need quick access to. The elastic cuffs keep them from riding up over my boots, yet another feature I appreciate. I've since purchased a second of pair of the Keb Agile pants, because I like them that much. While time will be the real test, I am delighted with all of these pants and believe they will hold up well.

These pants are great, I wear them every time I go into the woods. The G-1000 fabric is strong but lightweight and great for hiking. I wore these on a winter hike in Shenandoah Nat'l Park when it was about 25F. We got to a creek crossing and I slipped and fell in. I panicked at first because I thought I would be soaked in the backcountry in below freezing temps. But I got out of the creek and the water just beaded up and brushed right off the trousers- they stayed totally dry. My shoes and socks were still soaked but it could have been way worse. I became a true believer after that incident! I have since put the Greenland Wax on the trousers for even more winter time durability. The size 52 measures out to 37" in the waist, for both the Barents Pro Trousers and the Barents Pro Jeans. The inseam is extremely long so you have to tailor them to your length. The legs are baggier than I was expecting, but all the better to fit over wool base layer and boots. (Oddly, the Fjallraven Greenland Jeans size 52 measures out to a 38" waist. Those are made in Sri Lanka and Barents Pro are made in Vietnam.)

My first impressions are that these pants are made from a very durable, canvas-like material — it reminds me of a waxed canvas jacket. The sizing, however, is quite different from most U.S. brands. I usually wear a 35/36, but I can comfortably get into a 34. I used a seamstress tape to measure my waist (37 inches), and the size 38 fits with about an inch of room to spare, so the measurements were accurate. There’s absolutely no stretch in the fabric, so every time I bend over, it feels like the seat might rip. They’re definitely not as comfortable as jeans, but after wearing them for a bit, you get used to it. I also find them quite warm — anything over 60°F feels hot. That said, these pants seem ideal for hiking or working in the woods, as long as you’re not doing a lot of stretching or bending. I don’t regret buying them, but I doubt I’ll pick up more than one pair. On the bright side, they do look great when worn — rugged and well-fitted.

Hard to find 30” inseam. Great fit, very comfortable. Cool even in warmer weather. Very durable.

I have been wanting these pants for a long time...ever since our 4 month trip to Alaska. I saw several men wearing them on our trip and I liked the design. My wife and I hiked several Denali areas off trail. I wish I had them then because their fabric is stronger than normal hiking pants. I found them for a good price on Amazon. Just be advised, they run small. I normally wear a 34" waist but needed a 36" in these pants.

Ottimi pantaloni.Io porto una 48 IT ho comprato una 50 e va bene, forse un po' abbondante, dopo aver consultato le tabelle delle misure ho optato per una taglia 50 (34usa) si è rivelata un'ottima scelta. Il tessuto è resistente e si presta ad un uso intenso, non troppo pesanti, in montagna possono essere usati per escursioni estive-autunnali. Unico difetto é la mancanza di una tasca per il portafoglio nella parte posteriore. La vestibilita non è attillata ma non sembrerete clown. Un pantalone che consiglio agli amanti della vita all'aria aperta.

Heard afew mixed reviews about these trousers, mostly positive I might add. I'm around 5ft 6in and a size 32 short, fjallraven's sizes confused me but got these in the 48 and honestly I've never had some trousers fit me so perfectly!!! Not tight at all!! Even with the pockets filled, they feel so comfy around the waist and legs , they feel so light, only wore them afew times and there definitely my main pair now. My ONLY gripe with them is the leg length! I've searched online and youtube and even fjallraven state you may need them altering for a perfect fit, ALOT of material had to come off the bottom of the legs for me. There was a review on here saying they sent them back due to the protective extra material on the knees not looking right, the trousers I have are all one colour and you don't really notice it tbh. Top quality product, really starting to love the brand! Expensive but you get what you pay for.
