I've noticed that some 2019 reviews comment that the extra features on the tiles don't always work. Can anyone tell me if this has been improved?

With mine it was absolutely fine the only problem being that it seems the battery carries on being used when its turned off because i put it away for months after my child moved onto other toys and forgot about it then when she wanted to play with it again the batteries were flat, maybe this could be avoided if you take out batteries between use but who can really be bothered?
